Description

A global power generation company are seeking a Senior Vice President of Health and Safety to join their team in Austria. You will be office based for this role, but will be required to travel to our international projects. You must therefore be happy to travel for this position. As the Senior Vice President of Health and Safety you will report directly to the global COO and will be responsible for:


- Assuring safe operation of the power plants at the highest international H&S standards and commit to H&S Target
- Supervises the regional OHS Managers and supports dedicated OHS sponsors at projects
- Develops and maintains HSE Management system leveraging current best practices
- Leads the Health, Safety & Environment Committee and participates actively in the Social Responsibility and Environmental Sustainability Steering Commitee
- Reviews and develops HSE standards, policies and procedures and ensures continuous improvement in business practice
- Implements detailed program for HSE compliance including an internal and external audit program and development of internal audit expertise
- Establishes best practice benchmarking for HSE performance and cultivates a culture in the business where people recognize, report and take appropriate actions for HSE violations including accountability and mitigation
- Develops and Implements HSE training programs both globally and locally including conducting gap assessments, developing training materials, conducting training and ensuring proper training records are maintained
- Identifies HSE permitting requirements and ensures businesses comply with local and global requirements
- Conducts site assessments, both internally and using consultants, and ensures recommendations are implemented


This is a hands on role which will require someone to understand the safety laws and regulations within the EU. You will also need to be able to implement the structure and the process. For this position, the ideal candidate should have experience working on Conventional Power Plants, Solar Plants or Wind Projects.

Essential Skills Required:
Must have a degree and hold a ideally H+S certificates or Diplomas
Must be fluent in English
Must have a minimum of 8 years' experience within the industry
Must be familar with EU H+S Regulations, especially for construction sites
Must have a proven track record within HSE in both construction and operations environment
