    As can be seen from my attached Resume during the past 30 years I have had extensive experience in design, construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning, start-up and handover of Power Generation equipment, MV and HV Substations, LV, MV and HV Distribution, Switchrooms, LV, MV and HV equipment, Instrumentation, and PLC, DCS and SCADA Control Systems.

    The LV, MV and HV electrical equipment has included Generators, Switchgear, Transformers, Switchboards, MCCs, VSDs, UPSs, Battery Chargers, Battery Banks, Instrument Air Compressors, LV, MV and HV Motors, Earthing Systems, Cathodic Protection Systems, CCTV, Light and Small Power, Lightning Protection, Building Services (HVAC, Fire Systems, Security Systems) etc.

    This has been on small and large Brownfield and Greenfield projects in the mining, power generation, processing, bulk materials handling, oil and gas and numerous other heavy industries with MV and HV Substations, distribution and equipment being at 11kV, 33kV, 66kV, 132kV, 250kV and 275kV.

    The details of the MV and HV Substations involvement on various projects is as follows,
    1. Western Mining Corporation
    a) Olympic Dam Wash Water Evaporation Ponds Project
    • The design, construction and commissioning of the 11kV transmission line from the main plant substation to the ponds and the pond area substation and facilities.

    2. PT Inco Fourth Line Expansion Project in Indonesia
    • The management and supervision of the design, construction and commissioning of the major upgrade to the plant HV substation (132kV) and associated MV and HV (33kV and 66kV) switchboards required due to the construction of a second Hydro Power Station.

    3. Murraylink HVDC Interconnector
    • The management and supervision of the design, construction and commissioning of a new 250kV supply bay in the Red Cliffs Terminal Station to feed the converter station.
    • The management and supervision of the construction and commissioning of the new 250kV converter substation equipment.
    • The management and supervision of the construction and commissioning of the converter station incoming 275kV switchgear, switchboards and associated equipment.

    4. Telfer Goldmine New Power Station (GE Gas Turbines)
    • The management and supervision of the construction and commissioning of the 33kV substation equipment.

    5. The West Kimberley Power Project
    • The management and supervision of the commissioning of the 66kV substation equipment for the 5 new power stations.

    6. Sino Iron Project
    • The management and supervision of the construction and commissioning of the HV (275kV) 35km transmission line from the power station to the port plus the port substation, GIS switchgear and the port area facilities.

    7. Snowtown Wind Farm Project
    • The management and supervision of the construction and commissioning of the new HV (275kV) Snowtown substation equipment.
    • The management and supervision of the commissioning of the HV (275kV) 28km transmission line from the Snowtown substation to the Power Authority (ElectraNet) substation.

    • Development of capex justification documentation, scopes of work, tendering documentation, engineering drawings and documentation, review of tenders, contract and procurement management, then management and supervision of projects through to regulatory authority approvals and client handover.
    • Engaging, liaising and managing engineering consultants and construction contractors and reviewing engineering designs, drawings, specifications and construction methods and procedures to ensure compliance with contractual and technical requirements and the relevant standards.
    • Developing and Managing the design, procurement, construction and commissioning plans, schedules, budgets, resources, procedures and project handover documentation for varied contract delivery models and ensuring that all activities are completed according to the project plans, schedules and budgets.
    • Facilitating and Managing stakeholder meetings, design reviews, risk reviews, lessons learned activities and ensuring all outcomes have been understood and implemented by delivery teams.
    • Developing, Implementing and Managing the detailed construction inspection and test procedures, plans and inspection and test sheets.
    • Developing the construction to commissioning acceptance and handover procedures then Managing and Coordinating the handover of subsystems and systems and the associated documentation from the Installation and Construction Teams to the Testing and Commissioning Teams.
    • Developing, Implementing and Managing HSEQ Plans, SWMS, JHA’s, Take 5s and ensuring all incidents are reported, investigated and managed.
    • Management and Supervision of the Construction, Pre Commissioning, Commissioning, Start-Up, Operation and Maintenance activities performed by contractors, suppliers, vendors and multi-disciplined teams to ensure that safety and quality of work is to the relevant regulations, specifications, procedures, project design and statutory requirements.
    • Developing, Implementing and Managing the design change, outstanding work, non-conformance and punch list procedures and monitoring the ongoing work and corrective activities to ensure satisfactory completion and close-out.
    • Leading in the creation of a safe work culture by monitoring the execution of the work in the field to ensure worker competency and compliance with approved policies, procedures and processes and addressing any issues promptly with the relevant project stakeholders.
    • Communicating and reporting on daily, weekly and monthly planned activities and other relevant information to all project stakeholders plus conducting and participating in daily prestart meetings, induction and isolation training programs and toolbox meetings.
    • Developing, Implementing and Managing LV, MV and HV switching and isolation procedures, work permit procedures and notice of energisation procedures to ensure compliance with relevant HSE guidelines and JSA and Work Permit requirements.
    • Communicating and liaising with engineering, vendors, contractors, sub contractors, construction, commissioning and project management and all other project stakeholders.
    • Adopting the Quality Assurance and Occupational Health, Safety, Welfare and Environmental policies, procedures and requirements when managing and monitoring the construction and commissioning activities to ensure compliance with all project policies and procedures.
    • Guiding, Training, Mentoring and providing Technical Expertise to Staff, Contractors and Operations Personnel as required.
