is an innovative strategy that is intended to drive educationaloutcomes for Aboriginal children and young people through linking schooleducation to other related services, such as health, early childhood educationand care, and vocational education and training. Connected Communities is beingimplemented in 16 schools in 11 of the most complex communities in NSW. A keycomponent of the strategy is the co-decision making and co-leadership at the locallevel with the Aboriginal community which is led by the Local School ReferenceGroup. Government schools in these locations are hubs within their communitiesfacilitating a range of support services that are crucial to delivering aholistic, culturally inclusive education.
