BHP is Australia’s largest supplier of domestic gas with producing assets on both the West and East coast of Australia, BHP is also a material energy consumer with an Australian electricity demand of up to 500 MW per annum. 

Our recently created Australian Energy Team has been tasked with the management of BHP’s domestic gas sales, electricity procurement and the coordination of our Australia carbon activities to meet our global sustainability objectives. 

We are seeking an experienced energy professional to contribute towards the optimization of the BHP Australia energy portfolio, including the origination of value accretive opportunities across our portfolio and the management of daily trading activities.  Manager Energy (Australia) will support the Head of Energy (Australia) in the management of the Australian Energy Team, including; establishing strategic direction, interface with senior stakeholders and personnel management.  
About You

With exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to lead others this role will provide a unique opportunity to contribute towards the development of BHP integrated energy team. With significant experience and a deep knowledge of energy market/s (electricity, gas and carbon) you will be able to originate and coordinate the execution of commercial opportunities across our Australian energy portfolio and positively support broader energy market evolution.  

Location
This role has the flexibility to be based in either BHP Melbourne or Perth office depending on the preferred candidate.
