One of Australia’s largest mines and a complex minerals processing operation, Olympic Dam, is unique in that we produce Copper, Uranium, Gold and Silver. About the role

As a Civil / Structural Engineer you will provide engineering support and deep technical expertise to the Olympic Dam Operations. With a wide group of stakeholders and customers you have the opportunity to work across a broad range of areas and projects.

These roles are 5/2 Adelaide based with regular time required at site. Residential at Roxby Downs and other FIFO roster options may also be considered.

Relocation to Adelaide or Roxby Downs will also be supported.

In this role you will:
Be first and foremost focused on creating a culture of care by being a visible safety leader, engaging, developing and coaching your team
Review, update and approve the complete set of technical documentation (engineering standards, , specifications, , procedures, and drawings) from which the Operation is designed, constructed, operated and maintained
Generate and review designs, technical assessments and reports to communicate requirements
Provide technical guidance and knowledge to support projects, maintenance, operations and third parties and contractors to align with BHP engineering standards
Validates that the content of technical documentation is maintained to reflect the “as built” condition as per authorized modifications and changes.
Senior Engineers are expected to mentor, coach and work as part of a team to ensure success of the team
Ensure maintenance of physical and electronic documentation against defined document management standards
Support the ongoing asset integrity of the operation through identification and implementation of improvement initiatives

About You

Degree qualifications in Civil / Structural Engineering with professional experience
Experience in mining, resources, minerals processing, energy or heavy industry sectors.
Desirable to have experience with Earth structures, Concrete and Steel structures, Earthworks, Dams. .
Experience with brownfield installations and repair scope development
Demonstrated experience in providing technical input to design and project execution, with an overarching drive for safety leadership
Sound knowledge of Australian Standards
Well-developed communication and engagement skills with an interest in providing technical leadership, stewardship, support and solutions
Attention to detail and finely tuned problem solving skills
Demonstrate the confidence to lead by example, hold yourself and others accountable and coach others in ‘Safety Leadership’
