As part of BP, Castrol is widely acknowledged as the world’s leading specialist provider of Lubricant solutions. Although best known for our expertise in developing lubricants for the auto, Industrial and resource sectors, we also produce lubricants that directly affect our daily lives in other ways such as in gas and electricity production, transport industries, construction, and the marine sector.
We are now recruiting for a Logistics Distribution Manager to join our Global Supply Chain (GSC) team in Guildford, NSW. Reporting to the Customer Fulfilment Manager, the primary purpose of this role is to manage the day-to-day function for our regional depots and will work closely with Sales teams in reviewing and optimising our distribution network.
• Managing performance of our third party logistics providers (3PL) and regional distributors across metrics such as Safety, meeting agreed SLAs and quality
• Responsible for the facilitation of freight transport to our 3PL and distributor network
• Working with Sales teams on our route to market and network optimisation strategy
• Set delivery processes and standards in place that ensure safe, on-spec delivery of our products
• Embed processes to ensure Chain of Responsibility (CoR) compliance
• Deliver budgeted cost for 3PL operations across the distributor network
• Work with 3PL, Inventory and Planning teams to control inventory and costs associated with a surplus or deficit of stock on hand
• Work with GSC teams, 3PL warehousing and logistics providers to ensure customer service expectations are delivered
• Act as a point of contact for distributors and primary freight carriers
• Ensure customer service targets and variances to the SLAs are communicated to 3PL and are monitored with internal teams
Essential experience and job requirements
In order to be considered for this role applicants must; have a good understanding of Chain of Responsibility as it pertains to warehousing and transportation; have prior experience with warehousing and 3PL relationships; be able to influence external parties effectively in order to drive performance improvements and; be comfortable working with Microsoft Excel and preparing cost models and analysing other data and reports to aid decision making.
Your priority at all times will be to ensure that activities undertaken are done so in accordance with BP and regulatory policies and standards.
