Reporting directly to the Manager, Infrastructure Architecture, the Principal Technical Architect will have responsibility for defining the infrastructure architecture, integration points and identifying dependencies within existing systems and new systems across the BHP Technology Landscape Working with key stakeholders across Technology to develop strategy and architecture for Infrastructure Services to support business outcomes. This will include Network, presentation services, Hosting services, End User Computing and telecoms. The individual will operate with the support and guidance of the broader Infrastructure Architecture team and will design solutions based on existing standards and principles.
You will come from a Technical and Solution Architecture background in operating & supporting large-scale mission critical server, storage and network environments. Equally, proven knowledge and experience of the following will be highly desirable:
Networking technologies including, MPLS, VRF, DMVPN, multicast, load balancing, switching and routing technologies.
Network security constructs and capabilities including Layer 3 and Layer 7 firewalls, IPS, data diode, VPN; as well as with supporting infrastructure service technologies including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, NTP, file and printing services.
Hosting technologies including: converged infrastructure, VMware virtualisation, Windows Server OS, RHEL and CITRIX presentation services.
Digital Radio systems and the options associated with remote dispatch consoles
Implementing end user computing systems including Windows 7 & Windows 10 desktop, SCCM
Cisco Certified Network Professional
Microsoft Certified Professional
VMware Certified Professional
