About the role

Reporting to the Superintendent Maintenance Analysis & Improvement, the Specialist Analysis & Improvement provides technical advice, detailed failure investigations, analysis and benchmarking of our maintenance performance. An experience base with both Draglines and Electric Shovels would be an advantage.

The successful candidate will be able to engage, collaborate, identify and implement improvement initiatives which will enable best practice maintenance performance, focusing on continuous improvement and defect elimination.

This role is based at Goonyella Riverside Mine on a Monday to Friday roster.

In this role you will:

Promote a culture of Zero Harm and engage in meaningful safety interactions,
Monitor equipment health and performance based on condition monitoring and OEM information,
Initiate and conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations on major and chronic failures,
Be accountable for site’s Dragline and Electric Shovel fleet availability and reliability performance,
Liaise with the Maintenance Centre of Excellence (MCoE) to manage, govern and own equipment maintenance strategies,
Drive process discipline in order to ensure Preventative Maintenance is correctly executed,
Develop, implement and facilitate improvement initiatives across site through business acumen and technical analysis,
Build positive relationship with maintenance teams and provide technical expertise to support work quality and safe execution of work.
About you

Tertiary qualification in Mechanical or Electrical field,
Demonstrated experience in Root Cause Analysis techniques and continuous improvement tools,
Strong analytical and problem solving skills,
Ability to collaborate with others, communicate and engage with diverse stakeholders to share knowledge and provide technical guidance,
Confidence in implementation and management of maintenance strategies in SAP (or similar systems),
Passionate about innovation, defect elimination and continuous improvement.
Dragline and Electric Shovel technical experience is an advantage, although not essential.
