An exciting new Study Specialist opportunity has arisen for a project professional with experience within an engineering, finance or project controls role. You will support the project area managers and leads in the development of the Hay Point offshore major projects through coordination of external and internal activities to deliver fit for purpose project outcomes.

Work within the project team to proactively foster a collaborative team environment with an open communication culture;
Assist with the development (and review and approval) of study documentation such as various management plans, User Requirements, Project Execution Strategies, and others;
Assist with end of phase reporting and independent peer review workshops;
Assist with managing the projects’ risk registers, including participation in risk workshops, managing actions and monitoring progress against actions;
Assist with managing external consultants to ensure delivery of on time and fit for purpose project outcomes (engineering etc);
Participate in schedule and project cost reviews, in particular, the critical path, in conjunction with the project team so that schedule slippage can be monitored and the effects minimised;
Assist with the capture of lessons learnt from development & delivery of Major Capital Projects for incorporation into continuous improvement initiatives;
Assist with safety in design and value optimisation – assist to manage and identify and manage opportunities to enhance project outcome;
Assist with Aconex administration for the project (correspondence management, RFIs, document review workflows), ensuring project team members adhere to deadlines to preserve schedule with document management turnaround;
Manage the projects’ SharePoint sites, including (administration/document management/BHP Account user access), configuring the SharePoint site to optimise free flow of project information; and
Manage the project reporting cycles (Reporting Calendars, PlanView, Monthly Reports etc), including meeting action registers.
About You

To be successful you will demonstrate:
Technical or project controls experience over a varied range of heavy industrial, mining or resource related projects;
HSEC leadership;
Relationship management in a challenging and complex environment;
Communication effectiveness using various mediums to deliver a variety of information and messages;
Experience with financial and contract management;
Management reporting; and
Commercial acumen in relation to contract and supply agreements, including claims management for successful delivery of projects safely, on time and on budget.


The role is based in our Brisbane multi award winning offices, with some requirement for intrastate and interstate travel.  You will have stunning river views from your modern open plan office with state of the art facilities plus bicycle racks with ample lockers, showers and change rooms and other amenities.
