Experience

  • Community Service Physiotherapist

at Free State Department of Health

    January 2019 - at Present

    Free State

I enjoyed my community service year, in the rural Free State. I worked at 6 different clinics (outreach services), the local hospital (Stoffel Coetzee Hospital), did homevisits in the local communities, and hold exercise & health promotion classes. I'd involved 6 local schools in the SASP Brain Break Video Competition - which was won by one of the schools I entered - with that a R5000 voucher from SASP to buy exercise equipment for them! During Physio Back Week 2019, I'd visited 5 local clinics, old age homes, and 6 schools for a physio awareness campaign where we handed out SAPS goodies such as jumping ropes, pens, frisbees; beach balls, bags, etc.

Due to my love for a variety of sports, I have a keen interest and passion to work with patients struggling with injuries. These injuries may potentially prevent the patients to participate in their hobbies and could influence abilities and performance in everyday life, at work or during a sporting event. I love to rehabilitate patients to their full potential and beyond!
