    I was responsible for managing a portfolio of large corporates operating in the Sultanate for varying industry sectors including automobile, oil and gas, construction, port services and mining companies. My responsibilities included compiling a daily snapshot of global market events and movements in currency and commodity markets to be distributed to our corporate client database. Daily contact with my portfolio of clients was key, delivering solutions to meet their currency exchange needs and interest rate hedging requirements. Furthermore, I actively arranged client visits on a weekly basis to maintain strong relationship with clients and discuss developments within their businesses, providing solutions for treasury requirements. In addition, I targeted new corporate companies to do business with the Bank, liaising with internal departments to handle and set up accounts and conduct due diligence on the firms.

  • Financial Engineer - Structured Products

    My responsibilities included structuring risk and asset management products for Arab Bank’s Private Banking, Corporate Banking, and Project Finance customers. Providing currency and interest rate product solutions for their hedging and investment requirements, including the use of structured product pricing software to create swaps, caps, floors, collars, calls, puts and barrier options to meet customer needs. Distributing a Middle-East Weekly report, that provided economic and financial news on the region to key customers as well as our global branches. I was involved in regular meetings with Credit and Compliance departments to approve credit lines and new products for customers. Carrying out monthly analysis of revenue generated by the Financial Engineering team, ensuring we meet our budget. For 2007 we exceeded our target budget by 600%. Prior to this , I was part of the Treasury Sales team, helping to lead the Bank’s sales initiative in Europe and the Middle East.

  • Corporate Sales - Cashflow Management

    I was seconded for a year as part of my undergraduate degree to Commerzbank in London to work with the Corporate Banking Cash Management team, responsible for marketing, negotiating and selling of Electronic Banking products to various industry sector corporations. My role was to assist Relationship Managers from various teams to understand their clients’ individual Cash Management requirements for improving liquidity and straight-through-processing and the team was involved in several Requests for Proposals, participating in tenders for Cash Management business for UK clients. Furthermore, I created various presentations on the Bank's Cash Management capabilities for distribution to new target customers on European cash pooling structures.
