    Lecturer and course convenor of the third year archaeology course ‘Global Diasporas and the Archaeology of the Recent Past’. I wrote the coursework, selected assigned readings, wrote and presented lectures, wrote assignments, essays and examinations, and organised and undertook field trips.

    Team member of the Co-Create/Wild Foods multidisciplinary project under the National Research Foundation Community Engagement Platform, co-creating ESRI online mapping platforms for traditional knowledge and livelihood creation. This has involved archival and document research on non-European communities living in the Pakhuis region of the Cederberg, Western Cape. Community engagement is a key component of the research agenda and this has led to several field trips to the region that have involved community events, oral interviews, filmed documentaries and social justice programs.

  • Heritage Consultant

    Province of the Western Cape

    An independent heritage consultant monitoring development, refurbishment and construction at various sites in the Cape Town and Winelands region. This involved archival research, field excavations, stakeholder engagement, permit applications, observation, data capture, summarising and report writing for government departments and independent contractors.
