    As a result of a new reorganisation of Group IT, I had the opportunity to take responsibility over all the development involved in the complete production process ( from contracting over sales till settlement ). I had an extra mission to unite all the teams ( 150 FTE ) in all locations to act as one team.     As a consequence of a group-wide reorganisation, Business Units got dismantled and IT systems consolidated. In my new role I was in charge of the Belgian IT ( 40 FTE ) with the goal to integrate Belgian IT in the Continental segment. My most important tasks: • Represent Belgian IT in Continental Europe and represent Continental IT for the Belgian business • Manage IT Budgets, manage suppliers • Roll-out Group and/or Segment applications in Belgium and decommission local systems • Integrate local IT staff into the Continental IT work-force

    As further acquisitions in the Netherlands and France happened, Thomas Cook built international business units. I got the opportunity to take the lead of an IT team supporting the “Dynamic Business”. It was an autonomous IT team ( approx. 25 FTE ) with responsibility for Program & Project Management, Change Management, Architecture, Business and Functional Analysis, Development and Infrastructure. Most important realisations: • Migration of the Dutch Car/City business towards our platform • Migration of the French Car/City business and Long Haul business towards our platform. • Development of various interfaces and integrations with external partners/suppliers ( search and book regular flights, HS trains and hotels ) • Organise a Change Advisory Board with senior management of the 3 countries.

    After the acquisition of Sunsnacks by Thomas Cook, I got the role of Manager Applications. I was responsible for the functional and technical teams ( approx. 20 FTE ) for both mainframe and open systems. Most important realisations: • Transformation of a classic TO system ( package holidays ) towards a modern TO system ( component based and dynamic packaging). A fundamental change of the platform. Project took approx. 24 months. • Development of a number of applications to support Retail, accounting and sales on open systems.

    Sema Group was market leader in building Tour Operating Systems in Europe. I’ve worked for a variety of customers. I rapidly got responsibility of a development team at a customer, an airline company in Düsseldorf. Main activity was the development and maintenance of the supporting systems for the aircraft maintenance departments.
