My journey as a business analyst at Discovery has exposed me to various BA responsibilities. Initially I was involved with the ongoing operations and enhancements of the financial team, which managed cashback and monetary transactions within Vitality and its member base. These involved projects such as the Apple Watch benefit, Active Rewards boosters and the overall loyalty & rewards programs. My tasks during this time were focused on business process modeling for improvements to optimize the current systems and to aid in automation of manual user tasks by employing Robotic Process Automation. I was then placed on a new product development team which was geared towards creating and supporting a comprehensive development framework for the Discovery Bank Active Rewards project and for future iterations of other Active Rewards benefits as a whole.

During my tenure as a developer, I have worked on various projects within the Vitality systems space. I was initially involved in BAU enhancements that dealt primarily with website profiling and visual enhancements on the JSP pages. Shortly after working in BAU, I continued with front-end development as the lead developer on the website redesign team for the Vitality website. These enhancements involved the implementation of Angular JS for greater code maintainability and a responsive web-design. After I have completed the work required for the Vitality enhancements, I was directly involved with developing Vitality launch projects that required all-round development both in backend and front end. Such projects included the new Vitality Move plan, Active rewards redesign, and the Vitality Wellness dashboard. All of this development was implemented with the MVC design pattern using Java Spring framework as the primary architecture.
