THE WAY I SEE IT..... The way I see it, many of us are trying to cut corners with cost... I get that; I'm guilty as well. However, I paid for that cost savings later on. I will not bore you with the details, but I am trying to help others understand that when it comes to their choice of roofing membrane why not chose a higher quality purchase so that your dollar goes further than its life span? As a consumer are we really thinking about the end or just the up front $ and not so much about the back end $? You could get 10 years into a roof system and start having issues. Even though you get your warranty ** remember - a warranty is only just that - a warranty. It does not mean your roof will not leak. I never try to convince someone to buy the higher quality product - the way I see it - it's their dollar, their budget- their choice. I guess when you see the consumer spending so much money on their roofs and it keeps on leaking, tenants are unhappy, and FM's can only do so much. The way I see it, if only they had not purchased the lower end product or even maintained their system. Roof repairs can become quite expensive. The way I see it... ask your roofing company to price the best quality roof as well and get them to explain why. Careful though - some may just be trying to make a sale rather than being honest. Especially, when trades are competing and bringing in the lowest bid.
