Did you know that most of the white sand that makes up the stunning beaches in the Maldives is made by Parrotfish that use their beak to crush and eat the coral polyps in the atolls resulting in a sandy excrement.

    The fact parrot fish created much of the sand is not what amazes me, what amazes me is imagining how many millions of years it took those parrot fish and countless other organisms to create the world we live in, and how quickly it all goes to shit because of careless humans. I hope we can have beautiful places like this for our children to enjoy when we are long gone.
