Position Purpose

This position is responsible for stacking boxes according to product specifications and transporting them to the freezer.

Key Accountabilities

Ensuring food quality along with standard productivity.


- Arrive to work on time and with all tools to perform task
- Ensure all equipment is in proper operating condition
- Maintain an adequate supply of packing materials ie. labels, trays, cartons
- Ensure the case taper is set-up prior to production
- Use correct skid types for designated products and ensure no broken skids are used
- Use only “clean” trays
- Ensure product is identified with the correct label and identified properly on the production ticket
- Inform your Leadhand if standard cases per hour are not being met
- Keep work area clean and organized at all times
- Report all unsafe work conditions to your Leadhand and Supervisor immediately
- Leave work area in good condition at the end of shift

- Adhere to all applicable job procedures as outlined in SOP manual
- Adhere to GMP's and Health and safety rules as outlined in employee handbook
- Keep work area clean and clear of hazards
- Report any unsafe conditions, incidents or injuries to supervisor immediately
- Use all prescribed personal protective equipment

- Ensure GMP's and safe food handling practices are being followed
- All tools to be cleaned and maintained in good repair. Report any broken, damaged, or missing tools to your supervisor. Do not discard any damaged or broken tools.
- Follow all GMPs including maintaining personal hygiene, handwashing/sanitizing hands, clean up spills (ie: ingredients, water, debris and wood)
- Report any foreign material findings to your supervisor
- As part of food security, report any unusual people or behaviours to your supervisor

- Perform all other duties assigned

- Must be able to read and write English

- Must work with speed and accuracy to keep up with the production process
- Service oriented --- high need to please
- Level headed -- does not overreact under stress
- Must be dependable and punctual
- Must be focused and have attention to detail
- Effective communicator

- Meet physical demands of job including bending, walking, standing and the ability to lift 22 kg above shoulders to a height of approximately seven feet
- Ability to operate electric pump truck
- GMP and Safety Awareness

- The majority of work in the bakery requires employees to stand on their feet for the entire 8-12 hour shift

- ARYZTA is a 24 hour/7 day manufacturing operation
- The temperature of the environment within the production area can range from 58 - 80 degrees farenheight depending on the department
- The production areas are often loud, exceeding 85 decibels, due to the machinery that is running; earplugs are required to be worn while in the bakery at all times
- Depending on postion, some employees may be exposed to dust; dust masks and respirators are available if required
