Summary
The Senior Business Analyst works within teams to transform business needs into solutions, whether these solutions result in product configurations, product developments, trainings or process recommendations.  Business analysts work on projects for new needs as well as operations to identify and improve current processes and systems.  The focus will be on IT service management (ITSM), ITIL processes, and leveraging ServiceNow to improve IT’s operational capabilities.
 
Mission
The main and routine tasks of the Senior Business Analyst are to:
 
Elicit the actual needs of stakeholders, not simply their expressed desires;
Analyze and synthesize information provided by stakeholders;
Produce quality deliverables such as business requirements, processes and workflows, system requirements, test plans, deployments plans, and training plans;
Manage the requirements lifecycle with traceability from business requirements to testing;
Define and validate solutions that meet business needs, goals, or objectives;
Participate in the evaluation and benchmarking of market solutions when required;
Assist the Project Manager in organizing projects and building plans;
Assist project teams during the implementation of solutions;
Participate in the design and execution of test scenarios and scripts;
Deliver training and product/process documentation;
Ensure knowledge transfer to operations teams during or at the end of project;
Assist the operations teams on complex issues encountered by product/process users;
Actively contribute to the business analyst community and mentor junior business analysts;
Carry out all other related task.
QUALIFICATIONS

Training
Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field;
Certification Business Analyst Professional™ (CBAP®) designation from IIBA.
ITIL v3 Foundation qualification.
 
Relevant experience
Minimum of 3-5 years in IT business analysis or equivalent experience;
Minimum of 1-3 years of ITIL or ITSM experience;
Experience in IT projects and operations;
Experience working across organizational boundaries on a local and global basis is an asset.

Good understanding of IT infrastructure and it’s relation to applications and business services
Basic understanding of application programming languages and components, object and service oriented programming, interface ergonomics and design
