AECOM is actively seeking highly motivated Entry-Level Mechanical Engineers for employment in the Winnipeg office. Entry Level Mechanical Engineers will perform the following duties under experienced Engineers and Technicians:


- Assist in preparing deliverables including calculations, drawings, specifications, reports and opinions of probable construction cost.


- Design calculations using a combination of computer software and hand calculations for mechanical systems, including plumbing, fire protection and HVAC.


- Perform HVAC calculations and energy analyses using the Carrier Hourly Analysis Program (HAP) software.


- Perform field investigations to identify and incorporate existing conditions into reports and/or design documents.


- Perform construction administration duties, including shop drawing reviews, responding to requests for information (RFI), and construction site reviews.


- Work independently and as part of multi-disciplinary project teams.


- Maintain and organize project related documentation and coordinate work with other project disciplines.


- Plan and organize work that follows a defined process.


- Apply judgement and seek advice from experienced staff to make technical decisions based on building code interpretation, and company, client and industry standard practices.


Minimum Requirements


- BA/BS + None or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education


Preferred Qualifications


- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical engineering or related field.


- Strong verbal and written communication skills.


- Proficient in the execution and generation of engineering calculations, spreadsheets, and report writing.


- The ability to take responsibility for assignments and deliver results within allocated budgets and schedules.


- The ability to work with, interpret, and apply national and local building codes.


- The ability to prepare written reports and deliver results in a clear manner to technical or non-technical audiences.


- Experience working with a consulting Engineering or Architectural firm.


- HVAC classes and/or Internship/Co-op experience.


- Familiarity with Carrier HAP software.


- Familiarity with application of LEED principles.


- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) registration with EGM.


- Working knowledge of REVIT, AutoCAD, and/or Bentley Microstation BIM software.
