You will use your expertise to:

- Lead and coach the Edmonton finance team to deliver financial insights to the Refinery Leadership Team
- Direct the execution of key business processes, such as long range planning, budgeting and stewardship reporting and analysis
- Support the development of strong financial acumen in the business and help to translate operational performance into financial outcomes
- Determine fit for purpose performance reporting, and support the business in crystalizing key messages
- Conduct periodic peer analysis and benchmarking, including Solomon's Fuels Study, to generate insights into value creation opportunities
- Highlight trends relating to key drivers of cost and capital expenditures, and develop targets to support the Integrated Planning Process
- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with the Refinery Leadership and internal Finance teams

Must-haves (minimum requirements):

- Eight years' of business performance management experience
- An undergraduate degree in a related discipline, or an equivalent education
- Strong communication skills to collaborate, gain credibility, communicate concisely and drive business performance
- Proven leadership capability in growing and mentoring a team
- Expert organizational and analytical skills, attention to detail, and a deadline driven focus
- A strong business acumen, with the ability to think like a business-owner, grasp key commercial considerations impacting operations, financial results, or which present a potential risk to the business
- A self- starter approach with the capability to independently suggest and lead initiatives
- You continually seek greater knowledge about the systems and processes in the workplace, in order to understand not just what you do but why you do it
- Alignment with our values of: safety above all else, stronger together, operational discipline, curiosity, lifelong learning and act with integrity

Preference for:

- Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation
- Finance or Engineering experience in the oil and gas industry, with a focus on refining

Where you'll be working, your work schedule, and other meaningful information:

- You will work out of our Edmonton refinery in Sherwood Park, located at 801 Petroleum Way
- Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs
