The Consumer Marketing and Communications team is responsible for driving reputation and revenue for the business.  Through marketing, media relations, internal communications and thought leadership, the team supports the organization by  ensuring all constituents – clients, associates, the industry, shareholders, consumers – have a positive perspective of Nielsen. Another primary priority of the team is to drive incremental revenue by creating awareness and driving demand for Nielsen solutions among our clients and prospects.

Key Responsibilities

The Marketing Manager will work as part of a multi-disciplinary Marketing and Communications team to support the Canadian client service team and senior executives in telling compelling stories, building key sales enablement materials and developing/customizing marketing plans and programs to drive revenue for the business. He/she  will work closely with the Canadian Leadership team on projects, from simple to strategic, including internal quarterly business briefings and RfPs.  He/she  will report to the Vice President, Marketing and closely collaborate with the Canadian Marcomm team. If you have a passion for writing and visual communications, are a self-starter who enjoys a wide-range of accountabilities, like to develop relationships with industry leaders, understand the consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry, and have experience working in a complex, matrix, fast-paced, high-exposure environment; this is the job for you!

Telling compelling stories starts with understanding the client and the ability to empathize with their needs and desires. Once that’s clear, knowing how to position the content to demonstrate value and simplify the complex is a core asset to this role. You will be responsible for creating the stories that get distributed in various ways – through our internal Knowledge Center, direct to client service teams, via webinars, email campaigns that you will manage, at industry events, on the Nielsen website and social media channels, etc.

Excellent storyteller and writer
A talent for simplifying complex stories and concepts both in words and visuals
Ability to ensure consistency with corporate messaging
Ability to understand and stay connected to business performance and adjust marketing tactics accordingly
Strong project management skills and ability to multitask on multiple high priority projects
Comfortable operating independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, high performance environment
Effectively understand the needs and motivations of and work with diverse groups of stakeholders, from analysts to executives
Creative thinker, team player, detail-oriented
Ability to manage strong and productive relationships with Third Party Industry Organizations
Expertise in the Microsoft Office suite and Google Apps for Work, especially PowerPoint and Google Slides;  Salesforce CRM inclusive of marketing automation tools such as Pardot a plus
Experience with Professional Services industries or Consumer Packaged Goods companies (either retail or manufacturing) a plus
3-5 years of experience in a marketing communications role in either a corporate or agency environment; B2B experience a definite plus
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business or related area preferred
