DepartmentBusiness Design is Rotman’s approach to learning and acting in innovative ways using human-centered design methods. It allows current and future leaders to learn about what both customers need and stakeholders want.

Rotman’s new Business Design Initiative (BDI) encompasses all design-related education and community engagement activities. Under the supervision of BDI’s Academic Director, the incumbent will focus on leading, engaging and managing student engagement activities relating to Business Design Initiative mandate involving both curricular and co-curricular programming across Masters, Commerce and Executive Programs.

The incumbent will be responsible for mapping the Rotman ‘Design-related’ programming eco-system; project managing academic and translational research; assisting with fund proposal development and collaborating with the Business Design Club, Rotman Career Centre, Alumni and other Rotman centres.

Master’s degree in Business Administration, with a focus on human-centered design, student, community, and/or curriculum development. Rotman Business Design Major completion will be an asset.

A minimum of 7 years’ experience in leadership development, management of organizational change, community development, business design, and
Demonstrated experience with facilitating Business Design curricular or co-curricular programs.
Direct experience leading design research on Business Design programming will be an asset.
Direct experience in one or more areas involving ‘student experience’ will be an asset.

Excellent oral and written communication skills, including public speaking skills.
Project planning and evaluation skills.
Strong interpersonal and management skills.
Strong knowledge of current and relevant student development across Rotman’s masters, commerce and executive programs

Understanding of university organizations and culture.
Commitment and meaningful experience with the principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion.
Support to build a student-centered experience and campus community inclusive of BDI’s broad mandate.
