About Our Opportunity As the Research & Statistical Officer 3, you ensure quality of the teacher statistics. You'll combine and analyze data to ensure the information is accurate and complete and generate reports for the Department and/or stakeholders.
These statistics support departmental initiatives such as Teacher s Supply and Demand, Teacher's Certification and Service verification, NSTU negotiations and public requests for information.
You are also responsible for updating, reviewing and testing the annual business continuity plans.
This position reports to the Supervisor of Statistics and Data Management.
About You As the successful candidate, you will have a bachelor's degree with five (5) years related experience or a master's degree with three (3) years related experience.
Experience in a data warehouse environment and familiarity with database, statistical, advanced MS Excel and presentation packages is required.
Hands-on experience with a range of data analytics tools and supporting technology is considered an asset (eg COGNOS, SPSS, tableau, Power BI, Oracle, MS SQL, etc.).
Other Considerations Please note, this is expected to be a temporary status position with an end date of May 29, 2020; however, the position status (“term”, “temporary” or “casual”) is dependent on the start date of the successful candidate.
Pay Grade: PR 13
Salary Range: $2,338.00 - $2,842.04 Bi-Weekly
This is a bargaining unit position initially restricted to current civil service employees represented by the Nova Scotia Government Employees Union (NSGEU).
