Purpose of Role


This role is responsible for managing sanitation employees & daily activities while administrating sanitation schedule, production cleaning and assigning the appropriate resources to effectively execute sanitation activities in the production, warehouse, and janitorial areas of the facility. The Lead will review/develop/implement Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures, and develop/deliver detailed training to Associates. Assist the Sanitation Manager in implementing and enforcing established Sanitation Program’s policies and strategies that supports the existing and expanding Food Safety requirements. The Sanitation Lead is also responsible for all safety requirements being fully adhered to throughout sanitation activities. 


Key Responsibilities:

Implement Master Cleaning Schedule and maintain sanitation documents and records
Supervise and coach Sanitation Technicians in the performance of assigned duties
Prioritize work on a daily basis by identifying pressing issues and shift production plans
Verify cleaning activities for completeness and ensure standards/requirements are met; including microbiological sampling of cleaned surface and equipment
Participate in Food Safety/HACCP Team and monthly GMP inspections
Assist in the development and maintenance of food safety and HACCP pre-requisites programs
Participate in 3rd party audits and Integrated Pest Management activities as needed
Create and validate cleaning standards, including procedures, checklists, and visual aids
Create and execute training for facility personnel regarding quality system topics including but not limited to GMP, Sanitation, Pest Control, etc.
Conduct effective, risk-based sanitation audits to identify gaps and improvement opportunities
Participate in project teams for new equipment and infrastructure, working with Safety, Quality, Operations and Engineering teams to ensure compliance to hygienic design requirements
Consult with management and production personnel on sanitation issues, recommends changes in equipment, plant layout, lighting, ventilation, or work practices to improve sanitation standard
