Senior Manager, Digital Design Strategy (Digital Customer Experience & Design Team)

 

What is the opportunity?

RBC is seeking a senior experienced design thinker who wants to help build the digital products, services and experiences of the future.

 

The Senior Manager of Digital Design Strategy will play a key role in defining digital strategic frameworks and product roadmaps. You also ensure all digital products deliver a consistent and optimal customer experience.  The Sr. Manager DDS is also responsible for working directly with Product Design Leads and Product Managers to ensure best in class user-centric research practices and methodologies are applied.

 

We are specifically interested in hearing from innovators who have senior level experience managing digital product design teams from opportunity framing through ongoing product delivery, measurement and optimization. Having experience in multiple design disciplines (research, communication, product, service, interaction and brand) is beneficial and should inform your approach in communicating the value of design strategy to our product teams and our executive.

 

What will you do?

Collaborate with product managers and research to understand key customer target needs and moments of truth that reveal new opportunities to innovate.
Support design researchers at defining current state customer pain points and mapping ideal future experiences.
Prioritize the right innovations that create measureable value to customers, and in return, the enterprise.
Work with product design and technology leads to deliver amazing experiences to market while developing new feedback loops and opportunities to optimize our digital and physical customer ecosystems.
Manage and provide direct guidance, expertise and education to senior design strategists and the greater digital design team.
 

What do you need to succeed?

Passion for learning about people and behavior in the worlds they inhabit, and getting at the motivations that lie beneath.
The ability to synthesize research into concrete frameworks and visualizations that business stakeholders will understand.
Experience at designing lean prototypes and stimuli that tease out compelling value propositions with customers.
Comfortable working on ambiguous, multifaceted fuzzy problems, sometimes alone but mostly with multidisciplinary teams in a dynamic corporate environment.
Confidence communicating in front of senior executives and millennials alike.
Technically proficient with research frameworks and tools
Always be open minded, kind, considerate, focused on strategic outcomes and generally great to work with.
10+ years of experience in Design Strategy or relevant field
Graduate degree required. Master’s degree desired in Design, Psychology, Human Factors, Industrial Design, Human-Computer Interaction or comparable work experience.
