Position Overview

A critical objective of this role will be delivering excellent service to our RBC agents, taking ownership of risk decisions and transcending a confident and professional experience to servicing agents.

The High Net Worth (HNW) Senior Underwriter ensures communication with agents is consistent, fair and in line with core Aviva values. Developing effective agent relationships is the key to the success of this role. 

The HNW Senior Underwriter, plays a critical role in delivering best in class underwriting service and will balance the agent needs against the corporate priorities to enable profitable growth and underwriting excellence. 

Accountabilities

Responsible for delivering superior quality service and fostering a “One Stop Shop” environment for RBC agents.
Expected to work in a timely and informed manner and should constantly be challenging the status quo to ultimately provide ‘Best in Class’ underwriting service.
Produce new accounts which includes providing price and coverage analysis with the ability to tailor the end product to meet specific needs of the agent/customer
Strong ability to negotiate coverage options and premium while maintaining underwriting discipline/profitability as well as promoting the ‘ease of doing business’
Quoting and processing new quotes, binds, endorsements, renewals and inspections. This includes offering support for our agents through the process.
Ordering and reviewing reports such as HITs, Autoplus and MVRs as required.
Ability to multitask using several applications at the same time (Guidewire, Insurac, Salesforce, DocVault, Google and other web based applications)
Responsible for and expected to service our agents in a timely, informed and professional manner.
Responsible for and are expected to meet deadlines.
Responsible for and are expected to exhibit a high degree of professionalism when representing HNW RBC, when dealing with team members and when dealing with the leadership team at Aviva Canada Inc.
Responsible and are expected to continuously update soft skills through identified e-learn courses and product/industry knowledge through CIP or other related industry accreditations.
Responsible for achieving targets, goals and objectives.
Ability to accommodate operating hours of 9:00am - 5:00pm EST
Required Qualifications, Knowledge, & Skills

5+ years High Value personal lines experience
Strong negotiations skills
Demonstrate leadership capabilities
