Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centred clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.

Position Overview As a member of the HSC Executive Team, the HSC Medical Lead works under the direction of the Chief Operating Officer and with other members of the Executive Team, to administer the affairs and oversee the operations of Health Sciences Centre .

As a member of the Clinical Program Leadership Team (CPLT), the incumbent is responsible for operational co-leadership of the clinical programs and services at the Health Sc i ences Centre.

The HSC Site Medical Lead is responsible for ensuring that the professional performance of the Medical Staff within the site is congruent with their scope of practice and meets the standard of care. This is achieved by collaboration with site and provincial medical leadership for each medical specialty. The incumbent is also responsible for taking the lead site role in complaints against the Medical Staff as outlined in the Medical Staff By-Law and is the principle liaison for the HSC Executive Team with regard to Undergraduate and Postgraduate Medical Education, Faculty of Medicine .

Experience

- A minimum of 5 years' experience in a relevant field of practice.
- A minimum of 5 years administrative and/or leadership experience involving medical staff.


Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

- Doctor of Medicine (M.D.), FRCSC or FRCPC or CCFP or equivalent.


Certification/Licensure/Registration

- Licensed with The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba.


Qualifications and Skills

- Eligible for a Medical Staff Appointment in Shared Health.
