What You’ll Do
Do you like working with different teams to deliver software faster, easier, and more reliably? Do you have the creative ideas, programming skills, and unique talents to improve the Advanced Malware Protection team software delivery experience?
This is a great opportunity to work with the Cisco AMP engineering group based in Calgary, to maintain, grow and scale the AMP infrastructure. The new team member will play a key role in supporting our AWS footprint through SaltStack. In addition, they will be responsible for monitoring our production environment and resolving issues through established playbooks.
Work within a group of exceptional Software Engineers, Quality Engineers and Systems Administrators.
The AMP Operations team knows how to build solid infrastructure. Our team is a mix of traditional System Administrators, Developers, and folks who can do a bit of everything.
Who You’ll Work With
The Cisco AMP engineering team is composed of highly skilled individuals who are comfortable working in a dynamic and technically meaningful environment. The AMP team is a highly performant group that are involved with all stages of the product development process from solving complex engineering problems to working directly with customers
Who You Are
You are a Site Reliability Engineer who has a background maintaining and fast-growing infrastructure. You have a development background coupled with an automation infrastructure experience. You love working with the Ops team in building services for Engineers and customers, improving build and testing pipelines and working on advanced orchestration systems.
Minimum Qualifications:
2-4+ years experience in the administration of enterprise-grade AWS infrastructures
Have a background with enterprise-grade experience with configuration management systems (Chef, Ansible, Saltstack, etc)
Strong Linux systems administration skills
Proficiency in infrastructure, service and application monitoring tools
Ability to participate in a 24/7/365 on-call rotation
Nice to have:
Familiarly with Terraform and infrastructure- as-code tooling
Software development background
Git workflow understanding
