SCBU Digital Logic IP Systems Engineer
The AMD Semi-Custom Business Unit IP Systems Engineering Team is on the lookout for a dynamic, energetic IP Systems Engineer to join our growing team.  As a key contributor to the success of AMD’s IP, you will be part of a leading team to drive and enhance AMD’s abilities to deliver the highest quality, industry leading technologies to market.  The IP Systems Engineering team fosters and encourages continuous technical innovation to showcase successes as well as facilitate continuous career development.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Systems Engineer, you will drive the planning, verification, IP silicon bringup and debug of various hardware IP for forthcoming AMD Semi-Custom SOC programs.
Develop and execute feature enablement and test plans for system and video encode/decode and audio codec IP across for all Semi-Custom products.
Drive technical innovation to enhance AMD’s capabilities in IP validation/verification, including tool and script development, technical and procedural methodology enhancement, and various internal and cross-functional technical initiatives.
Experience writing firmware for embedded u-controllers an asset. 
Develop test automation infrastructure and scripts
Analyze interactions between various power management features and optimize their configurations for power and performance
Support prototyping experiments for improving current and implementing new features that impact performance and power
Debug of IP issues found during pre-silicon (i.e. Emulation), bringup, validation, and production phases of SOC programs
Debug and troubleshoot system-level issues that may occur in test environments and platforms
Proactively drive continuous improvement for post-silicon power management and performance activities
Skills and Requirements:
Bachelors or Master’s degree in Electronics/Computer Engineering or Computer Science with emphasis on computer architecture and workload analysis
Experience: 5+ years
Strong programming skills: C or C++, and a scripting language (for example: Perl, PHP, Shell)
Good understanding of computer organization/architecture.
Video Encode, Decode and Audio Codec experience would be an asset
Deep understanding of digital electronics
Extensive experience with board/platform-level debug, including clock/power delivery, sequencing, analysis, and optimization
Extensive laboratory experience, including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc.
Strong analytical / problem solving skills and pronounced attention to detail
Outstanding interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills
Must be a self-starter, and able to independently drive tasks to completion
Must excel in a dynamic team working environment
Ability to be flexible in terms of responsibilities
Leadership and mentoring skills a definite asset
