Under the supervision of the Tax Manager, the Tax Analyst is responsible to provide assistance with the Affiliate tax (income and sales), reporting, returns, installments, accounting, audits and assessments. He/she effectively assists with government tax audit inquiries and special tax projects, as required.
Assist the Senior Tax Analyst with the preparation of monthly and year-end tax provision as well as reporting to Corporate Tax.
Preparation of various monthly government remittances such as income tax installments, withholding and sales taxes.
Preparation and analysis of monthly income and sales tax ledger account reconciliations.
Preparation and filing of monthly sales tax returns.
Assist the Senior Tax Analyst with the preparation of annual tax returns - federal, provincial, income, T106 and NR4.
Assist the Senior Tax Analyst / Tax Manager with government tax audit information requests.
Assist the Senior Tax Analyst / Tax Manager in maintaining current transfer pricing tax documentation.
Prepare reconciliation and analysis of tax notices from tax authorities.
Assist Senior Tax Analyst / Tax Manager with information requests from internal auditors.
Assist the Senior Tax Analyst / Tax Manager with special tax projects, as required.
Assist the Senior Tax Analyst / Tax Manager with the implementation of legislative sales tax changes.
Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley Regulations.
Ensure compliance with Affiliate and Corporate policies and procedures, including assisting Senior Tax Analyst / Tax Manager with adherence to reporting requirements on a timely manner.
Undergraduate university degree and a professional accounting designation (CPA)
One (1) to three (3) years of tax experience in an accounting firm or equivalent industry experience
Experience preparing Canadian corporate income tax returns is an asset
Bilingual (French and English)
Strong analytical skills
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work well within a team environment and cross functional departments
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and highly responsive to requests
Work well under pressure and deliver results in a timely manner
Proficiency with MS Office
Knowledge of TaxNetPro, Tax Prep and JDE is a strong asset
