JOB DESCRIPTION

Be a Tools Programmer for the Performance Capture Studio:
Our team of experts bring your story to life. The 8,000 square foot studio is outfitted with 80 Vicon t-160 cameras to capture subtle performances with extreme accuracy, perfect for everything from a solo performance to large multi-character scenes.
 
Our studio is also a professional sound stage ready to record high-fidelity audio, virtually eliminating the need for ADR. The Ubisoft Toronto Performance Capture Studio delivers the ultimate in immersive entertainment experiences.
 
Working within the performance capture department, you will design, implement, and ensure the proper functioning of the tools that will help improve the efficiency of the production team.

Responsibilities
As a Tools Programmer your main and routine tasks will be to:
Analyse existing systems and see how they could be enhanced to fulfill the intentions of the service;
Suggest improvements by designing and implementing new systems;
Develop networked applications that facilitate and improve production workflow;
Write software for data processing and automation;
Create network interfaces to proprietary software, hardware and related third party products;
Document the work so as to transfer knowledge and enable users (from other crafts) to understand how to use the new systems and functions.
QUALIFICATIONS

Relevant Experience
5 years’ experience in software programming;
Experience with object oriented programming languages;
Experience with one or more JavaScript frameworks;
Experience with Git;
Knowledge relational databases;
Knowledge of remote system administration of Linux systems;
 
Essential Skills
An interest in front-end interface and back-end server logic development;  
An interest in devops (deployment, ongoing integration);
Ability to understand and account for user needs;
A pragmatic approach and sense of problem solving when trying to achieve development goals;
