LOCATION: Fort Hills, Wood Buffalo, Alberta (CA-AB)

Are you an expert coordinator who has experience in safety, auditing, performance management, and contractor oversight!? In this fast-paced environment reporting to the NPA Superintendent, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the safe operation of all NPA assets. You will act as Area Authority on behalf of NPA for all NPA areas and assets at our Fort Hills site, as well as the safe operation of the NPA owned utility systems and fuel distribution. To safely execute this work we would like you to use your outstanding communication and collaboration skills to lead and coordinate with our contractor work force.

You will use your expertise to:

- Lead a third party contactor within direct area of responsibility in a safe, efficient and cost effective way and ensure contractor workforce proficiency and training
- Audit performance of service providers to ensure compliance with contract obligations
- Ensure all Regulatory compliance items are accurately completed and filed
- Implement world class operation programs & strategies
- Monitor performance indicators, address any deviation from targets
- Assist the Operations & Maintenance Superintendent in the preparation of annual budget and reporting on monthly cost variance
- Provide significant input into the business plan in order to reliably meet or exceed performance expectations in safety, environment, cost and productivity in Non Production Facilities
- Ensure compliance to all relevant Suncor policies and standards, including the Management of Change (MOC) process and maintenance business processes, and improvements into the development of area-specific procedures and standards
- Ensure all health, safety and environmental standards are upheld, monitor the effective application of programs and address actions arising from HSE audits

Must-haves (minimum requirements):

- Five or more years of experience working in Waste Water & Water Treatment or similar industrial environment
- Three or more years of supervisory experience
- Fuel farm operations experience and knowledge
- Strong understanding of pumping systems and hydraulics
- Operational experience with oil and lube systems
- Operational knowledge and experience with odorized natural gas systems
- Ability to read and interpret water and sewer drawings and P&ID's
- A Certificate or Diploma in a relevant technical field or equivalent combination of training and operational experience
- A High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
- A valid driver's licence and a clean driving record
- A continuous improvement mindset and are able to seek greater knowledge and understanding of the systems, process and hazards in the workplace
- Strong collaboration skills that enables you to build strong, positive relationships with diverse groups

Preference for:

- Working knowledge of HVAC, doors and cranes, air monitor and gas detection systems
- Alberta Environment Water & Waste Water Operator II- IV Certification/Water & Waste Water Technician
- Previous SAP or other Enterprise software experience
- Knowledge of water and waste water codes and other applicable federal, provincial and municipal legislation

Where you'll be working, your work schedule, and other important information:

- You will work out of our camp-based Fort Hills mining site, located in Alberta's Athabasca region, 90 kilometres north of Fort McMurray, Alberta
- The shift schedule is a 7 days on/7 days off rotation
