We are recruiting a Business Unit Director CVRM (Cardiovascular Renal Metabolism) - Switzerland

In this position you are responsible for leading CVRM Business unit in Switzerland. Together with your team you will be shaping, developing and implementing the AZ CVRM strategy. You will be translating the Global strategic long-term vision into a highly effective country plan that defines and delivers “value” at multiple levels. You are providing expert insight and direction across the portfolio to ensure that all launches and line extensions within CVRM are expertly managed to deliver success. In this key role you will be a member of the Switzerland Senior Leadership Team and contribute to the collective success and performance of the total AZ Switzerland business and people. You will be reporting into the Country President.

Your main responsibilities:

Building the Business Unit

P&L responsibility for the CVRM business unit and individual core brands
Accountable for the success of the CVRM Business unit including the Marketing and Sales Team
Utilising a deep understanding of the CVRM ecosystem, patient journey and payor needs to define and build an effective CVRM Business Unit
Main contact point internally and externally for the CVRM Business Unit
Inspiring the CVRM Business Unit to develop and utilise patient and customer understanding to challenge and innovate within their own roles and the wider AZ environment to ensure that AZ delivers innovative CVRM medications to patients
Ensuring that strong external relationships within the CVRM ecosystem are built and maintained with healthcare professionals, payors and patient Groups
Identifying the roles and capabilities required for success within the CVRM Business Unit and drives the recruitment of high calibre individuals
Building high performing teams, ensuring that as we recruit our CVRM teams we create a culture focused on excellence in training, development, and performance management
Working with the SMT to develop the short- to long-term AZ CVRM strategy to ensure CVRM portfolio success
Shaping, developing & implementing AZ CVRM Strategy

Defining and effectively communicating above brand therapy area strategies, ensuring that these platforms deliver success across the AZ portfolio for brands and patients and truly establish the AZ Marketing Company as a leader in CVRM within the local and global CVRM ecosystem
Ensuring operational implementation of the country plans, analysing, anticipating and, where possible, shaping marketplace changes whilst identifying and maximising new growth opportunities
Ensuring excellence in execution with a strong focus on proactively managing performance and driving results.
Leadership and Capability Development across the CVRM Business Unit and beyond

Leading the CVRM Business Unit including the Sales and Marketing Team direct reports, but also cross-functional leadership of the broader CVRM team
Inspiring and leading the capability development for CVRM BU teams and individuals
Ensuring that an innovative and cross-function account planning and customer engagement strategy is implemented and monitored for CVRM
Ensuring effective performance management, talent management, recruitment & succession planning
Your profile:

This interesting position requires a High Degree level qualification ideally in science or medicine, an additional Post-graduate/MBA level qualification would be an asset.

Experience

Demonstrated success within marketing and Sales leadership roles, and pharmaceutical experience are essential.
Broad commercial experience and strong commercial acumen is essential
Strong leadership skills and proven ability to engage and motivate a team is essential
Therapeutic experience within the Diabetes area +/- Cardiovascular and renal areas is essential
Knowledge of the Swiss CVRM environment and health market including therapeutic area and brand know-how as well as an in depth understanding of local healthcare system pricing
