Overall purpose of role
The role holder will establish strong relationships across the Wealth Technology organisation, business areas and suppliers in order to deliver successful projects and work in a fully collaborative way. He or she will set out the scope of projects, engaging the most effective supply chain and managing through the lifecycle from initiation to deployment into the production environment. Also ensure that the project(s) are individually defined, planned and delivered to respective goals and objectives. Leverage the use of agreed supply chains when resourcing projects and to ensure the integrity of each project is maintained, focussing on internal consistency and compliance to Barclays Technology standards and processes. Deliver projects of various sizes to identified stakeholder groups within the agreed scope, time, quality and budget parameters and ensuring a smooth transition into BAU operations, whilst ensuring agreed benefits are realised.
Be a role model for Wealth Technology staff through strong leadership, clarity of vision and effective decision making.  The role holder will also at times need to carry out or oversee business analysis activities for the range of change management projects under their management and in support of the Europe Change management organisation. Depending on the project and system involved, the role will include, but not be limited to, requirements gathering, data analysis, leading User Acceptance Testing, defining target business process flows & diagrams, plan & deliver user training.
 
Key Accountabilities
Core accountabilities
Client/Relationship Management
Liaise with the Business Unit sponsoring the project to ensure the project meets their requirements and with the programme manager if the project is part of a programme. Regularly producing progress reports for the members of the Project Forum whilst managing the project risk log, escalating and reporting as required to the Project Forum members and senior management. Developing and maintaining strong relationships across the broader Wealth Technology organisation ensuring effective delivery of projects into the production environment. Collaborating with business areas to ensure smooth transition of projects into their BAU environments and support, as required and tracking the realisation of benefits. Gaining the approval of work orders for project sanction from business areas.
Delivery and Supplier Management
Managing the effective production of the required deliverables as per the applicable processes. Managing on a day to day basis the resources within the team including Barclays staff, 3rd party suppliers as well as forecasting and managing any non-resource related activities e.g. licences, hardware.
Planning all phases of a project and agreeing all stage entry and exit criteria. Managing the end to end supply chain, ensuring that all suppliers deliver to agreed product scope in terms of time, quality and cost.
Developing strong relationships with suppliers at a senior level to ensure all contractual and financial delivery commitments are met. Managing projects to the agreed methods, standards and processes providing coaching and guidance to team members and suppliers where required.
 
Transition into Run/Production
Managing the successful delivery of projects with full engagement across Wealth Technology on a daily basis, transitioning projects into the production environment. Provision of technical and project support on all project specific content related issues, making effective decisions on project go/no go criteria. Assisting Production support staff with the resolution of service incidents during change delivery and warranty periods.
 
Other
Managing change control and configuration management for areas of own project scope and deciding on the outcome of impact assessments, recommending the appropriate way forward to key stakeholders. Accountable for project administration across all projects, including RAIDs, change control, reporting and ensuring all Wealth Technology Application Delivery governance and performance measures and standards are adhered to. Developing the project management capability of own team and peers/colleagues across the broader Wealth Technology organisation.
