Roche Pharma Research and Early Development (pRED) translates extraordinary science into medical innovation through a diversity of technologies and talent located across seven research sites worldwide. We deliver on individual patient needs through a deep understanding of disease biology and the implementation of Personalized Healthcare strategies.
BiOmics (Biomarkers, Bioinformatics and Omics) and Pathology provides expert solutions to Pharma Research and Early Development (pRED) projects by generating and integrating molecular, cellular, tissue and functional data. This way, we deliver unique and holistic insights into drug safety and efficacy and enable informed decisions to bring the best drugs to patients.
You will be part of a team supporting cellular and protein biomarker research and clinical implementation for pRED studies. You will directly contribute to clinical research with your expertise in immunology, cytometry and applied biomarker measurement in clinical trials. You will contribute to shaping and enabling the implementation of clinical biomarker strategies to support dose finding, MoA confirmation and patient stratification. Key tasks will include method development, validation, CRO and sample measurement monitoring, data analysis and interpretation, always ensuring timely delivery of high quality data within forecasted budget. As appropriate, you will evaluate innovative technologies, laboratories, collaborators and workflows, striving to apply the best approach to address the intended biological question.
Primary Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Responsibility for designing and establishing experimental protocols, processing raw data, creating or reviewing reports to support the project biology or clinical biomarker team.
Supervises immunoassay and flow cytometry biomarker work at contracted laboratories, applying highest scientific and ethical standards within the context of Roche sponsored clinical studies.
Presentation of results to supervisor, team members, within the department, to collaborators.
Contributes as scientific and technical expert to a biomarker matrix team including input to relevant sections of clinical protocol.
Thorough knowledge of own scientific field and application of this knowledge to advance projects or molecules.
May either work as an individual or within a small team according to project needs.

Experience, Skills, Knowledge:
Expertise in biomarker method development and validation
Experience in Good Clinical Laboratory Practice desired
Ability to independently design high multiplexed flow cytometry panels (minimum 8 color)
Working experience with immune cells and applying immunological methods
