Textiles Business Unit


Eastman’s Textiles business is a growth engine for Eastman; in our Fashion segment, our focus is to build a growth platform that embodies sustainability, innovation and design versatility. Our key brand is Naia™, a cellulosic yarn that is used to design luxurious fabrics that are rich in color with a wonderful soft hand feel. We recognize there is a growing need to shift to a more sustainable fashion industry and Naia™ is a yarn with a low environmental impact with a carefully designed production process. Eastman is also committed to empower and collaborate with our partners to understand, communicate and collectively build a more sustainable fashion industry.


Role profile


The Textiles Sustainability leader is responsible to develop and drive the global sustainability strategy for the Naia™ brand and implement our textiles sustainability strategy. This role translates the sustainability strategy into execution plans working with Eastman’s corporate sustainability team and marketing, product and sales teams. Building out circular portfolio solutions for Naia™ will be an important element of this role.


Responsibilities


- Develop and drive the global sustainability strategy for the Naia™ brand; develops strategies and execution plans on sustainability for specific market segments in collaboration with key stakeholders e.g. Market segment leaders, Marketing and Business Development teams, Sales, Technology, MarCom, etc.
- Draws conclusions from multiple sources of intelligence to create insights that support strategies
- Manages product sustainability innovation program, specific focus is to devise and implement unique business opportunities related to the Circular Economy
- Continue to build our strong foundation of sustainability and develop Naia™ as a thought leader and collaborator in world of sustainable fashion
- Responsible for the enhancement of Naia™ image by being active and visible in the community and by working closely with other industry organizations
- Lead sustainability communications including public speaking and interviews, content management strategy, and communications plans.
- Collaboration on joint projects with sustainability teams at key account customers (e.g. fashion brands)
- Lead and manage our engagement with key sustainability partners –Textile Exchange, FSC, PEFC, etc.


We are looking for a dynamic and experienced marketing professional who has experience, expertise and passion for sustainability and who can help build our Textiles business in Sustainable Fashion. This role is ideal for a self-starter who enjoys the challenge and excitement of developing a new business. Our Sustainability leader is a pivotal role in our growth strategy, and we are seeking a strong leadership profile that can inspire with vision and strategy and deliver results.

Required Education and/or Experience


- A bachelor’s degree in Design, Sustainability, or Textiles OR a marketing degree with experience in sustainability and textiles
- 5+ years’ experience in sustainability
- Strong business/marketing acumen
- Textiles industry experience
