Technical Assistant Manufacturing Engineering

Our EMEA Manufacturing Engineering Industrial Team is growing and we are looking for a Technical Assistant to join our dynamic team.
In this position you will be participating in the departmental aim to introduce new products in a timely manner and in accordance with costs, efficiency and quality objectives. Based on skill set and capability, you can additionally take the lead and facilitation of smaller projects. Your main responsibilities will include:
Responsibility for overseeing change part design, specification and order processing for new launches
Placing orders, liaising between the external vendors and the plant and ensure the tracking of timely delivery of parts
Supporting new product line trials, with particular reference to the fit, function and performance of change parts
Assisting the Manufacturing Engineer, especially with reference to change part functionality and tasks which are related to the new launch timelines, transit tests and master data (weights and dimension of packaging)
Carrying out site value analysis – Secure the ongoing evaluation of the existing product portfolio with the objective of optimizing profitability through product modification, supply base management / alignment, and supply chain methods improvement
Providing support to Assembly Operations and Engineering Department including advising on equipment set-ups and component functions for new launches
Driving agile ordering processes, meeting our new launch timelines and speed to market objectives
Evaluating of cost savings opportunities regarding the tooling requirements, while meeting safety and quality specifications
Supporting the management and control the site based tooling budget
You have a degree in Engineering or further education/apprenticeship in a technical field such as Engineering or an equivalent professional experience
You ideally have experience in working in a fast moving consumer good environment and developed an understanding for packaging equipment as well as efficient work practices
You like to work towards deadlines under pressure and you have no issue with sticking to strict timelines
You are fluent in English and German, written and spoken
You possess strong communication skills and you are open-minded and hungry to learn
You have an excellent understanding of ERP Systems and MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
SAP (ECC) experience as well as the ability to read CAD drawing as considered as a plus
