We are currently recruiting for aBusiness Systems Analyst (f/m), to join our team at the German eBay Headquarters at the gates of Berlin.

Job Responsibilities:

The Business Systems Analyst (BSA) will work with the product manager to identify and manage issues, risks and dependencies, and will support the development of the product roadmap at the detailed product feature level. Additionally, the BSA will work with data modellers to ensure that system designs meet known and likely business requirements, and will ensure that systems deployed to production are working efficiently. The BSA will partner with analytics groups to ensure that the Data team’s production systems continually represent the source of truth for a given subject area.

This position requires an individual who is experienced with supporting new system development with requirements and documentation, and enhancing existing systems. The BSA should have skill at technical document authoring, writing and analysing SQL to validate results, and interfacing with various stakeholders across the organization.

Products managed by the MAP team include multi-petabyte data repositories; tools for exploration and discovery; and data services that enable the next generation of data-driven services at eBay.  The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge and experience understanding and documenting the design of new data products, write excellent technical documentation, and will be equally comfortable interfacing with business users and technical staff. Previous experience in environments with big data platforms like Teradata and Hadoop is highly desirable.

Job Requirements:

In depth knowledge of data system design for reporting and analytics. Strong experience authoring technical documentation guiding the product development lifecycle for data products
Skill communicating requirements and logic design to technical staff, ensuring deliverables meet requirements and validating results against benchmarks. Experience eliminating roadblocks for technical staff and tracking detailed development of large numbers of deliverables at the same time.
Being able to rapidly develop prototypes to support Analytics needs
Exposure and experience defining new products, features and data systems to meet the business needs of a diverse set of stakeholders. Skill in data modelling and data model concepts for large data warehouse environments.
Demonstrable experience working with product managers, data architects and technical staff on the implementation of new data systems
Familiarity with data visualization and reporting tools like Tableau and PPT
Very strong written and verbal communication skills
“Can do” attitude, team player, energetic personality, works well under pressure in a fast paced, ever-changing environment
Basic Qualifications:

Several years of experience in a business systems analyst or hands-on data product development role
Multiple full-lifecycle system implementations in a data environment
Fluent in SQL and relational databases such as Oracle and Teradata
Bachelor's Degree above or equivalent. Math or Statistics preferred
