Summary


Joining the Secret Service, Office of Strategic Intelligence and Information, as a special agent will allow you to perform critical protective intelligence assignments.


This position is covered by Law Enforcement Availability Pay (LEAP) which is an additional compensation of 25% of the base salary will be added to locality pay.


Responsibilities


We are looking for talented and focused retired Criminal Investigators to assist with unprecedented operational tempo and travel. Criminal Investigators will carry out assignments in protective intelligence and may be temporarily assigned to duty stations through other countries. Duties include:


Supporting protective operations for various protectees and protected venues by conducting protective intelligence assessments and investigations during both foreign and domestic visits. This will include assignments related to National Special Security Events.


Coordinating protective intelligence assessments and investigations across the Secret Service.


Qualifications


You qualify for the GS-13 level if you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level, which is in or directly related to coordinating difficult and complex protection assignments or staff assignment including but not limited to: covering designated security post at official functions/events and restricting secure areas to authorized personnel; as assigned, keeping in close proximity to designated protectee and taking any measure required to protect his/her life; providing protection while on travel with a protectee; supporting protective operations by interviewing unauthorized individuals attempting to gain access to secure areas to determine whether a security threat exists; and writing associated reports
