Risk Management Partners, Munich RE


Definition of the geospatial processing strategy within Risk Management Partners (RMP)
Implementation of geospatial-based analytics in a software product development context by applying modern procedures and algorithms
Automation of geoprocessing job chains as part of RMP‘s data pipeline infrastructure
Research and integration of new geodata sources – from the public or within the Munich Re organization
Support and coaching of the development team in the visualization of geospatial data in applications and data dashboards
Alignment of RMP‘s initiatives with the colleagues from Corporate Underwriting Geospatial Solutions


University degree (PhD or master) in Geoinformatics or either Computer Science or Geography with a strong computational focus
Multi-year experience in the application of standard GIS tools (e.g. Esri ArcGIS, QGIS, OpenGIS)
Experience in the implementation of geospatial data processing with big data technology (Hive- or Apache Spark-based, GeoMesa, Elastic, etc.)
Broad experience in different technology stacks (Microsoft, SAP, Apache Hadoop)
Experience in the automation of geoprocessing job chains
Experience in the application of modern geodata visualization frameworks (Leaflet, Mapbox, vector tiles, etc.) and algorithms in the web application development context
Experiences in product development desirable but not mandatory
Joy and high motivation in the collaboration with customers and colleagues in a start-up team
Fluent business English mandatory, knowledge of German and/or other languages is an advantage
