Description

Responsabilities :


Assists library patrons with locating and borrowing library materials
Provides customer service for patrons, including check-in and check-out of materials, issuing library cards, and answering account questions
Explains library policies to patrons and directs complex inquires to the appropriate person
Assists in maintaining the quality and appearance of the library collection: typing and replacing labels, replacing/repairing broken covers and cases, weeding/sorting damaged items
Registers and renews patrons' records; updates patron records; contacts patrons; adds messages to patron records
Shelves books and maintains holds
Collects fines and fees, operates cash register and reconciles daily receipts
Receives, sorts, and distributes mail
Processes periodicals and handles bookings for materials
Operates, opens, and closes the circulation or information desk
Files reference materials; conducts shelf reads, shelves used materials, and processes new books
Assists patrons in use of the library catalog, public computers, copy machines, fax, etc;
Maintains computers and printers
Assists with reading and other special library programs
Maintains stock of various supplies for machines and service desks
Assists in training other Library Technicians, Assistants, Pages and volunteers
