Engineer (f-m) NFV, SDN and Virtual Infrastructure


Location: Duesseldorf
Germany, Vodafone Campus

Role purpose:


Run Virtual
infrastructure &OSS infrastructure design, in accordance with the strategy
and the goals of the design team, being accountable and responsible for
engineering, design, and implementation of NFV/SDN solutions for the European
markets. Driving the harmonization and consolidation strategy of systems within
the sub-domain. Manage the relevant relationships with the stakeholders to
ensure that system strategy and functionality is in line with the market
demands.


Particular technology
focus on (but not restricted to) VI & OSS infrastructure (hypervisor and
computing, storage, network - physical or virtual), remote access solutions,
cloud, security and backup solutions.


 


 


With us you will:


- Analyse, evaluate and
work-out the requirements for a demand in accordance to the Demand Management
Process


- Manage the project
lifecycle, coordinating suppliers engage with peers and other stakeholders
during the development and implementation phase in accordance to the Delivery
Management Process


- Prepare mid and long term
technology plan, in line with Vendor’s roadmap and technology evolution, to
cope with customers’ and traffic growth ensuring service quality and network
performance according to business requirements


- Prepare mid and long term
financial planning activities (Detailed budget, regular budget updates and Long
Range Plan)


- Evaluate Vendors’ technical
and commercial offers and support SCM and VPC activities during commercial
negotiations with the Vendors


 


Apply if you have:


- Degree qualification or equivalent
experience


- At least 3 years of
professional experience in telecommunication or IT


- Strong focus on engineering and
architecture of NFV/SDN solutions


- Strong knowledge of data centre
infrastructure, cloud, virtualization architectures and operational processes


- Cloud computing architecture and design
(IT and Telco)


- Knowledge of IT standards

- ITIL, ETOM and project
management techniques (e.g. Prince2) knowledge


- Telco OSS/BSS  Solutions

- Ability to work across
multi-functional and cultural boundaries to deliver results and change
