The Social Media & Communications Specialist will work on the external communications program and social media channels in Germany for Autodesk, a world leader in 3D design, engineering and entertainment software. They will build brand awareness and communications activities in the country, seeking out opportunities for storytelling through paid, earned and owned media, speaking events, workshops, and other communications activities.
They will create programs that positively shape Autodesk’s reputation in the minds of Germany’s business decision makers, design trendsetters, consumers, students, and Autodesk’s professional users (design professionals, engineers, architects, digital artists).  They will cultivate deep relationships with journalists, bloggers and other influencers, pitching stories and providing relevant content that results in positive media coverage. They will play a key role in building and managing Autodesk Germany’s social media presence. They will coordinate and collaborate globally and locally with colleagues in brand, communications, sales and marketing, and will support on all operational aspects of the Germany communications program.
This position is based in Munich and reports to the Communications Manager for Germany.
Specific areas of responsibility include:
Content Development: Create localized content and repurpose global content for use across multiple communications channels.
Media Relations:  Generate on-message media coverage in strategic media outlets. Build and maintain relationships with key online, print and broadcast media that will reinforce Autodesk’s positioning and increase visibility in the countries.
Social Media: Play a key role in content creation and paid distribution across Autodesk social channels in Germany.
Speaking Opportunities: Identify, own and manage relevant external speaking opportunities.
Internal coordination and communication: Participate in quarterly planning, measurement, and reporting process, communicate internally to stakeholders about results and impact to the business.
A Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications, or related field is required.
The successful candidate will have 3+ years of social media and public relations experience. Experience in executing successful social media awareness campaigns and integrated campaigns is required, as is working in journalism or public relations.  A demonstrated track record for executing events and PR campaigns for technology or design companies, either in house or with an agency, is a must.
This individual must be driven, focused and able to work both independently and collaboratively at all levels within a highly-matrixed organization. This role requires flexibility and strong organizational savvy, so the ideal candidate will have proven ability to build and maintain relationships with employees on all levels, stakeholders and the media.
The candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, a professional demeanor, an ability to provide strategic counsel with tact and honesty, and the capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Language: Written and verbal fluency in English and German is required.
