Ubisoft Artist is looking for a 3D Environment - Nature Artist –Specialist (M/F) to join a team developing of a new AAA game!
As an Environment Art Specialist, this position will place you among the World Team where you will author vegetation, rocks and other natural props. Occasionally you will be supporting the environment art team in creating non-organic props.
You will be owner of the assets you create from their design to the creation of their geometry, their LODs, their collision, all the way to their textures and materials. You will be following the requirements and report to the Level Art Lead, the Level Design Lead and the Art Technical Director. You will follow the life of your assets into the production pipeline to understand how they are used and thus, improve them.
All your work will have to respect, integrate and extend the artistic, the technical and the gameplay constraints.
Your main mandates:
Assets productions (Vegetation & Rocks) in a realistic style of high standard, embodying the expectations of the J Lead Level Art, the Lead Level Design and the Art Technical Director.
Assets integration in the editor according to established processes.
Ensure the quality of assets and/or improve them to reach expectations.
3-4 years in the video game industry as props Artist or 3D modeler
Real time geometry modeling mastery
Ability to respect a realistic art style
Understanding the gameplay mechanics that are linked to the environments and the objects[RP1]
Excellent knowledge of SpeedTree
Excellent knowledge of 3DSMax & Zbrush (baking, retopology…)
Texture authoring using the Substance suite and occasionally Photoshop
PBR rendering constraints knowledge
Artistic & observation skills
Multidisciplinary, reactivity, autonomy and initiative behavior
Team spirit, positive mindset, constructive and sincere communication skills
Ability to inform involved people, to give visibility to the leads
Open minded, ability to listen to feedbacks and to bounce on opportunities
Ability to work for high expectations in terms of time and quality
Classical 2D drawing basic skills
Fluent English spoken, allowing to work easily in an English-speaking environment
Avid gamer, and having a strong knowledge and interest in the images production fields
