Description of the job

A vacancy for an Integration Architect (m/f) has arisen within Airbus Commercial Aircraft in Toulouse. You will join the API & Integration products team within Digital Accelerator team.

The Digital Accelerator is an integral part of Airbus' IT department and is building and operating new business platforms and services adopting new technologies, automation, digital native skills and agile ways of working to accelerate our digitalization journey.

APIs play a key role in this digital transformation, enabling users to easily connect and share key information across diverse IT systems, building more collaborative ways of working, and increasing innovation and new business opportunities. As part of the API architecture, the Integration platform consists of a catalogue of services that provide application-to-application connectivity and interaction through ESB, XML Gateway, ETL, etc.


Tasks & accountabilities

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

o Working closely with product owners to analyse, assess and understand business needs and translate such into IT solutions
o Designing and building API based solution and integration architectures via high-available, scalable, maintainable, secured, monitored systems and services
o Promote an API-first & Integration culture
o Coaching and mentoring other integration and API architects

This role will involve some travel for business in Europe and as such, you must be able to travel accordingly.


This job requires an awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity, as the foundation for the Company’s success, reputation and sustainable growth.

Required skills

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

o Proven track record as software and solution architect in the context of API and Integration
o Strong understanding Enterprise Integration Patterns, RESTful Web-services and SOAP-based Web-services
o Experienced with building Web-oriented Architecture and MicroServices
o Experience with Agile/DevOps environments
o Knowledge on programming languages and concepts like Java, Python, Go, XML, Json
o Knowledge on some of the following products/tools: Splunk, ElasticSearch, Ansible, Docker, Nexus, Artifactory, GitHub, Jenkins, Maven, Jira/Confluence, etc.
o Ability to design efficient, simple and reliable architecture
o Knowledge with Cloud platforms
(AWS, Azure, Google) is a plus: building and deploying cloud solutions (AWS preferred)
o Specific MuleSoft Skills:
- AnyPoint Exchange, Anypoint Studio, DataWeave, Connectors, MUnit
- App specific connectors, CXF, Mule ESB, CloudHub, AMC, API Gateway
- MuleSoft certification at any level would be plus
o TOGAF certification would be a plus
o Negotiation level of English
o Advanced level of French would be a plus
