So true Anders. One of the most frustrating aspects of budgets that I have encountered in many companies is the inflexibility associated with allocations. For instance; one area was over-budgeted while in another area an unforeseen project arises that would be a real value add to performance and lend to a healthier bottom line for the year. What happens; the project is postponed until it can be 'budgeted' while the unused funds for the over-budgeted area are lost as 'savings'. If budgets are not dynamic, if inflexibility results in lost opportunities, then they are nothing more that short-term, irrelevancies that have little association with reality. But Wow, don't those 'savings' sure look good on end-of-year reporting! This never made sense to me.

I believe your experiences have taught you well because you own them. Your article reflects you're in control - "I believe I can master it as I have mastered many skills in my life." You will be noticed because you are noticed now, as a good writer. Good luck in your journey. and as @Kevin Pashuk stated "Work will come to the diligent".

I feel like I'm eavesdropping on your self reflections @Phillip Hubbell. I fully agree that one gets pigeonholed into a category... "Hey the projector doesn't work! Call Kevin!" even though you have many other facets. I see you as a writer who does other things rather than someone who does things and writes on the side. I'm an avid photographer and musician, but I would starve if that's all I do. You sound very self aware. Keep pressing on my friend. Work will come to the diligent.

Very interesting @Phillip Hubbell. Your writing kept me engaged till I finished it. Most of the time we are not identified with our real self. We are know with the cap we wear. Our cap becomes our identity. This is a tragic story in interpersonal relationship.

Good article @Mohammed A. Jawad. You wrote: "Even working with “difficult people” can provide value when change managers treat communications with respect and are willing to reconsider some aspects of the change to accommodate sub-organizational needs while still fulfilling plan objectives." I agree 100%. The downside, when your managers are the difficult people and have no vision to be 'change managers.' I ran into this with my last job. Thank goodness in all my years of work it was a short lived experience.

Great pleasure to read you here and starting with this superb post. I expressed similar views on my lat buzz here and I find this post assuring very enlightening. @Sara Jacobovici singled out ego as a prime factor for fallen performances in one of her comments on my posts. Here you wrote "This requires them to have control of their ego, their beliefs, thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, and empathy for the people who will bring their vision into reality". Interesting discussions are emerging.

Thank you for the mention and highlight of my name in the post. I appreciate it greatly. It comes from the writer of a great book "The 90-Second Mind Manager". This is enough of an honor for me. Close
