#1 Hi Jonathan - yes I have read what you have posted - excellent content, observations and assumptions and you have really gone into some depth. Clearly you are an expert within this area and a go to guy for companies looking to identify where, who.

"An agile approach requires a lot of open communication, collaboration and trust between all parties involved". I couldn't have said it better myself. In-house development teams can look at outsourcing development as their job is in danger or some type of negative, thus causing issues with outsourced team. Reality is that the company wants to keep in-house team working on revenue generating projects. I read your other pieces of scrum and outsourcing as well. Both articles are spot on and very well written. I'm currently working on a 3 part series on "Building a winning outsourced development team", and would love your feedback. https://www.glowtouch.com/outsourcing-software-development/build-a-winning-software-development-team-with-outsourcing-part-2-of-3/

I agree, meetings now are becoming obsolete. If everyone else is taking advantage of technology's evolution, why not in this issue too? There are tons of apps and features that can be used to avoid losing time on long meetings like Slack for example or even Google Drive and the Hangouts. Meetings would be still necessary but I'm sure they would be less and shorter but mainly, more objective.

#3 @Ekaterina Novoseltseva no worries, actually after your post I had to investigate a little bit more and found out about Jira although I didn't know about this new option Trello. I will look it up since I'm starting up my business and I need this. I will look into it and find the one that suits better with the business plan.

It is number 1 software development tool built for every member of your software team to plan, track, and release software. With Jira you can see how much time developer spent on each user story, what he is working on right now and what he is going to do next. All stakeholders of the project can access Jira and track the progress, giving feedback. If you haven't used one of those two, I highly recommend you to start using them, they changed my life. They increase productivity of the team, motivation and make everyone more organized. And what is very important is that your working process is 100% transparent, you as a manager or product owner can see what each of your team members have done , doing and will do. Clients feel more relaxed because they can access Jira whatever time and have control over what is going on. Close

Very nice. The first Agile project I worked on turned out to be a hybrid and it was the developers who were not agile and the business end that was...this had to do with resource availability and offshore programming where deliveries of code became stories in iterations and the deliverable for iterations often didn't include finished programming,, but some other aspect of the project.

What a great article @Ekaterina Novoseltseva. I think in a day and age where people feel the pressures from internal and external factors, its important to feel in control of the work you do at work. Equally, to feel appreciated which improves productivity and gets results! Do you think this could be the new workforce trend?
