Reviewing Emails Once a Day Doesn't Make You Efficient or Effective
Reviewing Emails Once a Day Doesn't Make You Efficient or EffectiveThis is an article I published on Linked In quite a while back. It got a good response and I'm thinking it's message still rings true today. I've read the recommendations for building an hour into my day to allow time to catch up, and respond to...

#3 I like the handle it only once thing, but for me, knowing what's in there allows me to deal with fires sooner rather than later to avoid a total disaster.

I like the premise and I agree with you. I try to add the 'handle mail only once' method we used to use for regular post (and interdepartmental mail as well). Mind you, I was never brilliant at it, but I think it helps to have an organisational game plan!

    Teaching your kids finance
Teaching your kids financeA lot of studies have come out recently showing that the number one factor when it comes to financial success is not how much someone makes or how rich their parents are - it's how well they understand financial basics. This can also be exemplified...

Many parents are just plain uncomfortable talking to their kids about finances. Kids grow up learning very little, and then are expected to handle finances well. It's a tough expectation to meet.

"THE power of saving" definitely we should teach this to people since they're kids. If I knew saving methods since then maybe today I would be in another situation or I would've faced less difficulties. Great share!

#3 I agree. I was very fortunate to convince my credit union to start a blog, and within 4 months we were considered among the top 20 financial blogs in the country. Definitely at least one blog is a minimum in my mind.

#2 As a writer, I am flabbergasted! Banks and credit unions should not have A blog... they should have several! Very few business can connect across so many personal interests. Most of those interests tie directly to the banks' products. My mind is still reeling from the millions of lost opportunities.

#1 Agreed Paul, there are SO many reasons to use Twitter but so many banks and credit unions hesitate. They also hesitate on blogs... see my recent article: http://www.mcdougallduval.com/2016/04/11/financial-blog/

I could probably come up with 20 more! How about tweet bots to answer frequent questions? How about automatic DMs for mortgage renewal notices? Or even simply just promoting blog posts...OMG They DO have blogs don't they?
