Comments29/07/2016 #56 Pamela 🐝 WilliamsWell Paul knows how much I like and appreciate him...I wrote a post about it! Michael, your initiative in doing these interviews has brought so much to beBee! You're highlighting all the right people. I've spent my spare time (in other words I'm procrastinating on a chore) this week getting caught up on all the interviews and I've yet to be disappointed. Thanks guys for an entertaining evening!20/07/2016 #51 Paul "Pablo" Croubalian#50 Thanks, Lisa. To be sure, I prefer the term "student" to "guru." A guru knows stuff at a spiritual level. A student sets out to learn everything there is to know on a subject. He/she knows the task is impossible and never-ending. The student does it anyway.20/07/2016 #50 Lisa 🐝 Gallagher@Paul "Pablo" Croubalian you never cease to amaze me with your talent to keep your audience captured. @Michael Hillebrand great interview! Paul, I love your profile photo. I remember when you were honest with me about one I used.. and another I was using on another account. You told me which one you thought looked better. I like your honesty and the fact that you are a polite person with PIZZAZ! You son is the same age as my daughter. I don't care if you don't consider yourself a Social Media Guru, I sure think you are and I believe many would agree! You both made this an enjoyable interview. I loved the Barbara Walters addition and the photo, priceless LOL!19/07/2016 #47 Mamen 🐝 DelgadoYou are such an incredible being @Paul "Pablo" Croubalian!!! Great to know more about you and your creative world in your head thanks to "your bee hive in the wazoo". Life is a matter of compensations, you know... Good luck with all your projects, sure we'll know about them, and I feel really happy to be in the same boat as someone like you. Fun is guaranteed!! Excellent job once again @Michael Hillebrand!! Love your first "question". 😉 And I second @Dean Owen's idea, please someone should interview Michael!19/07/2016 #46 Susan 🐝 RooksAbsoutely hilarious, @Michael Hillebrand and @Paul "Pablo" Croubalian! And exactly what we might have expected from you two!
But I learned a lot about Paul, with whom I have had some back-and-forth notes over the last year. Those notes didn't begin to cover what you uncovered, Michael, so thanks for this!
I always admire those who can actually write for others; it's a unique skillset that so few of us posses (myself included). I can see why Paul is constantly booked to do just that.
Can't wait to see who's next!19/07/2016 #45 Paul "Pablo" Croubalian#43 I wrote 1 https://www.bebee.com/producer/@paul-croubalian/how-to-self-publish-writing-is-the-easy-part . I also have a binder full of notes, theories, and test results (mostly failed ones). I also have a file of some 180 links to how-to posts with a ton of contradictory information. There's enough there for a series of books let alone articles! I fear it will be a much longer road than I first expected. It's not like I want to do a "How to self-publish a best-seller" My original thought was only that companies can repackage white papers etc as non-fiction titles to do "advertising that ain't"18/07/2016 #41 Michael Hillebrand#40 @Paul "Pablo" Croubalian had to find some way to upstage my dashing good looks.. and yes, @Javier 🐝 beBee does have a better beard, but I could challenge him to a contest.. Just, give me about a year, or two... BABY FACE FOR THE WIN! (I still get carded trying to buy beer.) However @David B. Grinberg you tipped your hand to favoritism towards Javier, and you must now recuse yourself from voting. Which means I have even less of a chance at winning this..18/07/2016 #40 David B. GrinbergOne follow up comment, actually two comments in one. @Paul "Pablo" Croubalian, I admire your sexy legs. You Canadians are such show boats! Does your wife help you with waxing (and waning)? @Michael Hillebrand, I never knew Barbara "WaWa" would look so good with a beard. Then, again, who doesn't get sick of shaving facial hair? Still -- and don't be offended by this Michael -- but @Javier 🐝 beBee still has the best looking beard of any of the bees I know. Although I've only obtained about 500+ followers thus far, so still a lot of beards left to judge.

Comments30/07/2016 #72 Donald 🐝 GrandyAnother great interview @Michael Hillebrand. Your questions for @Dean Owen brought out the key to success in beBee and to quote @Matt 🐝 Sweetwood "The magic of BeBee is we are providing, by definition, the most customized, personalized content, you can possibly have." You have shined a light down our path. Thank you for this post.29/07/2016 #68 Praveen Raj GullepalliMan, aren't these beBEe interviews another great aspect of beBee! So good to get to see the personal side (the dark side of the moon;) Not that folks aren't genuinely candid and autobiographical on beBee, but yes a question from a colleague, in a conversation about business metrics, about your kids or Dad/Mum does infuse a certain warmth and connect that makes the interaction that much more meaningful! Great musings from you @Dean Owen our Man-where-you-been! :)29/07/2016 #67 Pamela 🐝 WilliamsGreat interview @Dean Owen, you did us Bees proud :-). Your daughter is beautiful! She looks a lot like my best friend's daughter...hmmm could just be because her paternal grandmother is Japanese :-)! It's actually the smile, so very familiar. Michael, another great interview...I feel like I'm sounding like a scratch record repeating myself, but it is sincere, I'm enjoying all of them and getting to better know these wonderful Bees.13/07/2016 #65 Dean Owen#64 Thank you @Sarah Elkins. Isn't it amazing how one picture like that can alter our perception so dramatically. We are quick to judge on first impressions, which on social media are the profile picture and first words you read. We are wary of connecting with any random stranger we come across as we have seen and experienced negativity. A glimpse like that immediately breaks down our defence mechanism. But it wasn't just the picture, but also the "Got me all misty eyed". I think we yearn for authenticity. People like you, Mamen, Don, Donna-Luisa and many more have it in spades.13/07/2016 #64 Sarah ElkinsI especially love the part about Don @Don 🐝 Kerr posting the picture of his sons fishing, @Dean Owen, because you're exactly right about putting a human face to this otherwise unknown stranger. If only we could do that everywhere, with every person, perhaps we wouldn't have these disproportionate social media overreactions and judgments against people when we don't know the back story.12/07/2016 #58 Lisa 🐝 GallagherWhat a great interview @Dean Owen and @Michael Hillebrand! I learned much more about you Dean and I like the way you think. I agree, I have found quality over quantity rules with regards to Social Networking. Dean, I had no idea you were half Asian. Your daughter is beautiful by the way!! My daughter married a man who is half Japanese. My daughter's mother in law is from Okinawa. My daughter and her husband just had a baby 5 days ago and I can see her daddy in her. I hope she never runs into comments like the 'yellow' comment above. And I know now you have a lot of spunk after reading this Dean, "Well blow me sideways and stick a rhubarb up my bum." Never heard that one before but love it! I also laughed when I read it. Thanks for sharing!12/07/2016 #56 Deb 🐝 Helfrich@Michael Hillebrand great follow-through on a perfect idea. So nice to read up on @Dean Owen - his line "It's about opening a dialogue of understanding between different faiths and cultures." is exactly why I am here and will continue to enjoy the global community being built in these hives.12/07/2016 #55 Kevin Pellon#28 #28 Michael Hillebrand nice interview with @Dean Owen. I enjoyed the questions and ofcourse the answers. In a world of social media, it's very difficult to share emotion and tell the story. I especially appreciate Dean wanting to share stories for his kids, and what better future platform than bebee. I recently left a well paying position because I never saw my two girls, Ryann 4.5 and Kora 2.5. I realized you cannot replace amazing memories! Comments11/07/2016 #56 Kevin Pashuk#43 Thanks for the kind words @Irene Hackett. It is always a delightful treat when something you say and believe deeply resonates with someone else. Being authentic (which is so very important to me) requires bringing all your 'selfs' so the table - good, bad and otherwise.11/07/2016 #55 Michael Hillebrand#54 thank you, @Sara Jacobovici for the kind words. Especially since these interviews are the first I've ever done, outside of my own inquisitive emails to people I admire.. I was very nervous about my ability to do a quality interview.. but @Kevin Pashuk and @Don 🐝 Kerr, and now @Dean Owen made it an easy conversation.. glad these interviews are helping others. Hopefully like Kevin said, @Javier 🐝 beBee, @Juan Imaz, and the rest of the team can find them valuable in helping to market the network a bit. Keep an eye out for more each day this week!11/07/2016 #54 Sara JacoboviciMy apologies Michael Hillebrand for coming in at number 51 and not having the time to read the previous comments. So, please think of anything I say that someone already said as a reinforcer rather than a repetition. First, congratulations to you and whoever else thought of setting up these interviews. Wonderful idea and opportunity to learn about the Bees here on beBee and add to the quality of the engagement. Also, I think you did a great job as an interviewer.
Dear Kevin Pashuk, I wanted the opportunity to let you know how much I enjoyed reading your interview. Beside having much to offer from your business perspective and expertise, I appreciated your responses coming from the whole you. Chronologically speaking first, "seeing beauty in nature, wildlife, cities and things created by others". What a wonderful way of describing the relationship between your creative act and that with which you interact, something created by others. As an integrator I appreciated when you said that you "bring the rest of my ‘selfs’ into my work". This is the best definition of an authentic self I can think of. The rest of the comments I picked out are related to a topic that I find invaluable; relationships. You say: "Relationships are important...Trusted relationships are even more important...I don’t want to be your best friend, but I want you to at least acknowledge me as a person...In that way you will stand out from the millions of other salespeople...Call me old fashioned, but the research is backing me up...We really want a place where ‘everybody knows your name’." Your discussion of relationships and community is right on.
And finally, I will echo your sentiments re your place on beBee: "I will continue to use beBee as it support my need to belong, and contribute to a community where I find significance."09/07/2016 #48 Scott StevensonGood stuff here!
Oh shoot! Too short @Michael Hillebrand? LOL!! Sorry but I couldn't resist! One thing I will never be accused of is too short on a reply or an article/post. I am with you 100% on that. When I am out there responding to posts that matter to me and my life, I too will check out other responders. They have already posted or replied to a subject I am interested in so chances are we have more in common.
So, in short (for me) thank you for this interview. I enjoyed it!

Comments09/08/2016 #47 Lisa 🐝 Gallagher@Don 🐝 Kerr I must have been away when this was done! I'm going through the introductions hive and found this gem. I love this quote by you, "When you find flow, your performance level is often at a peak. You achieve an optimum level of clarity. Things that you might ordinarily see as an issue, remain in the background or disappear." It just makes so much sense! Your boys are so young and adorable. Enjoy as I can tell you are! I love that you've been reading to them since the womb. My daughter did the same and is now reading her 4 wk old baby books every night, the tradition continues! A cancer hive? Do you still have that hive? I think many may find interest in it?! Afterall, it's one of the common evils in society so many face or have watched a love one face. Great interview by @Michael Hillebrand with you!29/07/2016 #45 Pamela 🐝 WilliamsWhat I love about this interview is the obvious deep love you have for your family Don. This part was particularly poignant to me: "When my wife was diagnosed with breast cancer at a very young age I floundered trying to find information and support for male caregivers. I found very little so I decided to start blogging on the subject. My rationale at that time was two-fold - one cathartic; two hopeful that I could make a difference to even one man in a circumstance similar to mine."
Humans need to know that there are 'others' out there that can relate and understand. You went looking for this for yourself and not finding it turned that lack into providing for and sharing with others. Simply beautiful Don.19/07/2016 #38 Pamela 🐝 WilliamsGreat interview Michael! "you only get to engage with a select few and even fewer will be genuine participants in your life for the long term. I am finding more of those types of souls on beBee than I have ever found on other platforms and that, I think, is because people share the whole-person story." couldn't agree with this more @Don 🐝 Kerr! It was great getting to know more about you.

It is also what can cause articles and updates to go viral if you learn how to manipulate them. The beauty is you can turn the trolls into fodder to drive the likes and shares. Thereby turning something negative into something positive =)09/06/2017 #37 Casey Katchersyde#36 Thank you @Victoria Toumit! I am glad to be here, and I do remember how you and many people were flagged on LI by online bullies, which restricted content posted on feeds. Strangely, I don't think that was my issue, as compared to a number of my LI friends, I have very few hateful comments on my posts and articles. My censorship came from LI directly. My posts were actually suppressed on the network, removed my content from my profile, restricted viewership beyond my first degree, and finally restricted my feed to only a small portion of my first degree network. It eventually felt like I was "talking to myself" so-to-speak as very few would see my posts, and they couldn't even view my posts on my own profile. I was getting over 1,000 profile views per day, yet getting 100 views on a post was like pulling teeth! I don't think that's possible without some type of censorship. Further, in the span of one week, my post views went from an average of 120,000 views per post to less than 9000 views.
Great to see you here! And all the best to you on this network!08/06/2017 #36 Victoria Toumit@Casey Katchersyde Do you remember my articles about bullies in LinkedIn? Do you remember how many bullies attacked me, humiliated me about my articles? Just a month ago, LinkedIn created the "report the share" flag. All the bullies flagged us one by one! LinkedIn paralyzed, because of flagging bullies! Many many people, including me, got flagged! I wrote an article about it and for 2 weeks I didn't share anything in LinkedIn, because even if I were sharing, 2-3 flags later, they were blocking the share. Well, they understood their mistake, now our shares are free again. But I lost my appetite. Even though I miss you so much! I start sharing my old articles in here. The beBee community is very positive and supportive, but in here we need more active users. I start suffering a bit. Because if you remember, I really love being interactive with my readers. But I don't have many in here. I like all the shares day and night in here, but I really want other users to do the same. I hope they will. Thank you for your wonderful article!07/06/2017 #34 David ChappellSo you chucked your account entirely? I wondered.. I haven't seen your work for awhile. I didn't know if you stopped writing or just stopped showing. I don't know about the viability of linkedin not because of hate, bullying, or anything like that, but because of the silence. I have been posting for years, have over 9000 followers, and am very active. I have just started getting interaction. To little to late i'm afraid. At least you are here. I hit follow, so i can keep up with you:)05/06/2017 #27 Cyndi wilkins#21" @Cyndi Wilkins I deleted my LinkedIn not because of the hate messages, my network was very positive. I deleted due to the amount of time I was spending on the site."
Hmmm...okay, however I did not gather that information from your post...as you open with your focus on 'negative commenting.' Sounds like you were very deeply embedded on LI and it began to be too time consuming for you...My mistake...A fresh start is always nice...Welcome to beBee...Enjoy the hives;-)05/06/2017 #21 Casey Katchersyde#20 @Cyndi Wilkins I deleted my LinkedIn not because of the hate messages, my network was very positive. I deleted due to the amount of time I was spending on the site. I was missing things in life that were so much more important than a social media site. I had over 60,000 profile views, growing daily, and I was too focused on the engagement and not the lessons. BeBee offers a refresh where I will no longer care about my "views" or "likes". Sure, I'm happy people will still see my content but I no longer need to be focused on why one post becomes more popular than another. The content I will add is content I enjoy writing, not what is more popular now. Further, for whatever reason, I was censored by LinkedIn which was frustrating. My own network would not be allowed to see my posts and shares. In the end, LinkedIn was a great life lesson for me!05/06/2017 #20 Cyndi wilkins“How do you know my name?”
“From LinkedIn,” he replies. “I read your stories to my 5th grade daughter. You really inspire her.”
It seems a shame you would allow some rotten eggs to ruin your recipe for inspiration Casey...Especially on a platform like LI that could really use some inspiring young professionals;-) Just me thinkin' out loud...Personally, I've been inspired greatly by some of those exchanges not because I like a fight, but rather there is much to be learned by observing a seasoned professional handle difficult situations....IE: @Candice 🐝 Galek... Just my two cents;-)
