Biotechnology

+ 100 buzzes
At its simplest, biotechnology is technology based on biology - biotechnology harnesses cellular and biomolecular processes to develop technologies and products that help improve our lives and the health of our planet. We have used the biological processes of microorganisms for more than 6,000 years to make useful food products, such as bread and cheese, and to preserve dairy products.

Ironically I was having the same thoughts this morning about an interview I have coming up on Monday. I've been making a list of questions I've been asked in the past (let's face it most interviewers follow a distinctive question patterns) and reviewing and changing my answers to better reflect who I am and they type of employee I would be. Preparation, preparation, preparation. I hope you liked Ashville, it's one of my favorite NC cities.

Not every problem has an answer I can fix - hence the need to ask questions. I really like what you said "...help customers think through the challenges and consequences of not fixing things and the impact on the organization." That will truly help in building rapport and trust with the customer which is an invaluable asset for building long term relationships.

#6 Joanna, you also have a powerful testimony and journey. It took a lot of courage to venture way outside of .your comfort zone. I see many similarities with your and my path. I lived in four countries and every time I arrived to a new territory, where I had no friends, in some countries even no language ( Finland, Turkey) but every time you collect yourself and say : "well, I can do it". Every time I learnt new culture, language and met new friends. I have never regret that I left successful carrier in dyplomacy and collected experiences which I would never get staying in one country, doing this same work and have these same people around me. To leave your "comfort zone" is a brave decision but it worth to do that. Thank you for sharing your experience. All the best and congratulations to your brave move :)

Twenty years ago I left a job in admin and took a job with Fred Pryor Seminars to travel the world and speak. I had never imagined, dreamed, or expected that, but oh my, the places I saw, @Michael Hillan! (I still don't quite know where that courage came from, though.) The experiences I had -- and survived! Was I scared? A few times when I was half a world away from my home in the eastern U.S., you bet! Yes, I had a lifeline of sorts; an 800# back to the company. But this was before the all-encompassing Internet, and it didn't feel very comfortable at times.

Sometimes what we see as adventure others see as lunacy, but I am truly glad I followed my gut / instincts / adventurous soul away from those ruts and into new territory. It has been an amazing journey, so far!

I hope your post here gives others something to think about . . . Close
